A powerful message from the Doc tonight.
Do yourself a favour and print off Brian's training document. The pro at my club asked me for one and really liked it.
Use WWBD it really does work.
I am constantly winding my playing partner up quoting it after he hits another Hollywood shot into the jungle!
Thanks Brian you are a great coach.
    Stay safe stay well

      Thankyou David.
I better send you the cheque in the mail. WWBD is a great concept that you named.
Shooting lower golf scores is less technical than people think. We just need to get the ball in the hole for less shots.
      Thank you my #1 subscriber
      Brian.

Very good tips thanks Brian; I think your assistant David is also doing a great job! It is a pain being in lockdown again but hopefully it will just be a short one. WWBD - I should paint it on my golf bag!!

Thanks Steve. It could be a good one on the wrist band like some of the AFL Players use during a game.
Hopefully we will be back into it on Thursday. We are in a better situation than a lot of countries around the world.
      Thanks for watching.

Brian, this video showed up at the end of the LIV highlights for their tournament today, so since I hadn't watched it, I looked in. Interesting perspective on what you see wrong with today's golfer and what they should do to correct it! A number of these reflect on me as well. As you probably know, I am always working on my golf game. As you suggest, the majority of my work is on my short game and it has paid off. I've utilized your videos to my benefit and my chipping, pitching, and putting is above average. Do I have negative thoughts at times, of course, but I try to dismiss them and not carry them with me. I believe I have excellent course management. If its a risk/reward type shot, I shoot for the center of the fairway or green and not chance a negative outcome. My golf plan going forward is to get my handicap down to where it was pre-pandemic. With your help, I'm sure I'm going to accomplish this goal. Good Job Brian!! Keep up the good work!

I love the way the UA-cam algorithm is showing you some of my content John.
You are certainly a good student that is trying to get better all the time. I love your focused approach and I know you are going to achievable your goal.
I am humbled that my videos can help you without any face to face interaction.
      Keep up the great work.

Most relatable thing you said was "it's pretty easy to make a bogey if you are trying to make a bogey". That is the key to shooting a consistent score, shooting your handicap every time. I played after work leagues for many years. Get out of your car with no warm up and shoot your handicap. I got good enough where I could predict my exact score on every hole and then shoot it. I learned to never push my game past my current skill level.

      Well done John.
You learned to play "the game" not the game of golf swing which most people play.
Have a great Christmas and New Year.

My score is directly related to hitting my driver / tee shot. Bad tee shots lead to higher scores. My best scores are when I'm hitting my driver well. It seems to make the short game easier.

    • @fitzygolfpro
      @fitzygolfpro  Рік тому

It just depends on how bad the tee shots are Kathy. If they are costing you penalty shots or you need to chip out sideways or even backwards that certainly costs you shots.
Have you tried not using a driver over 9 holes playing by yourself?
I get clients to play with their 5 wood or even a hybrid.
      The results always surprise people.
This could be a good strategy to use and in the meanwhile keep working on your driver (and perhaps get a physical lesson on it) until you can hit it either on the fairway or in the rough more often. We just need to keep it out of the trees and the water.

When I don’t play with my driver the ppl I play with don’t like it and always tease that I am cheating or taking the easy way out. 🥴 My problem is staying in bounds and out of penalty areas. Some course rules are brutal. Like drop area could cost you 4 strokes on a par 3. 🥴

Good one Brian. Recently I struck my 2nd shot into the dogleg bunker on the 7th at Morack. Took out my 50W and thought I was going to carry it out and over the greenside bunker and put it near the flag. Definitely not a WWBD shot, and paid the consequences :-(, an 8 ouch....

To be perfectly honest, I don't think I have ANY shot that I feel I can confidently claim a 70% success rate with. I probably actually do succeed that often with some of them (9 Iron from 110 yards comes to mind), but I don't feel that confident with them. I'm still largely in that, "This shot SHOULD work, and if I screw it up, it's not going to kill me," phase with most of my golf shots.
I think one of my big problems is, having ADHD makes it difficult for me to maintain the same degree of focus on each shot. I have, for instance, noticed that I can have a better-than usual start to a round (which, for me, usually equates to par or bogey on the first three holes)...but the minute I let myself recognize that, the next hole falls apart and I suddenly find myself +4 to +6 on that hole. I'm working on focusing on each hole, individually, rather than thinking about how the round as a whole is going.

    • @fitzygolfpro
      @fitzygolfpro  Рік тому

That s indeed a challenge for you but if you can break it all down to a hole by hole basis or even stretches of 3 holes it should help.
If you can't get a 7/10 shot just try and choose one that is the highest percentage in your favour and work towards creating the 7/10 shot.
      Brian

@@fitzygolfpro I REALLY like that 3-hole sectioning idea. Oddly enough, I'm waiting for the group ahead of me to clear the fairway, but I'm having the best round I've had all year. So something's working.

They were watching me from about 30 paces away....
I was also watching them. Especially the big red one who has a history of chasing golfers.
You could probably see me looking around during the filming.
I hope you enjoyed it Jesse.
