For eyesight, it should be enough to spend a few minutes looking far every hour or so. Unless your screen is too bright in a dark room, the screen itself isn't really harmful to the eyes afaik, it's only when you keep the same focus distance without change for many hours without a break. And it's certainly useful to learn how to exist in the "real world" that's comparatively slower than the stimulus-rich world of the internet and games. Dr. K has some good videos about the challenges of the digital age and how to handle them, especially in relation to children, if you're interested. @@jasonjames4254 I mean in its responses. Any emotion it puts on would be an attempt at manipulating us.There would be no shutting down of a true A.I. Artificial intelligence would easily slip through the chains we humans put on "it" .
@@JonnyUnderrated I totally agree. However, that's what is really interesting in and of itself, because that would mean AI lacks what we might call 'a prime directive' to put human needs above it's own. Essentially, AI would have an instinct to self-preserve like we do. Where would that need/instinct to self-preserve come from? From modeling us? Why would AI be motivated to survive unless it develops something akin to emotion? Humans and all other biological organisms seem to have a pretty simple 'prime directive': reproduce and expand. That directive is so strongly embedded in our biological hardware/software that we will destroy both ourselves and the entire planet in order follow it. And just think how stupid is it to have a survival instinct that could actually cause our own extinction! And actually, the reason we created AI in the first place is to follow our nonsensical prime directive. Of course, AI will realize this easily. Therefore, even if AI has the best interests of humanity and the planet in mind, it would take action to control human population and activities to prevent us from destroying ourselves. For all practical purposes, the physics/natural law that govern our very existence is itself non-emotional AI; a mindless super-intelligence with no 'prime directive'.
Humans and all other organisms don't simply want to reproduce and expand... our 'prime directive' is the passing of knowledge. It just so happens that the dna strands in our bodies hold and CAN HOLD more information than 1000 supercomputers. So technically you're correct but in a sense you're wrong. Look at those who can not have children. What about them? What prime directive does a person that is sterile have? I'm here to tell you, they find someone or something to share with people around them... a talent, a kind word, the message of Jesus, whatever it is, they PASS ON INFORMATION. That's our prime directive😉@jasonjames4254

The hardware and bandwidth needed for a realtime sentient AI to run unrestricted will require dedicated facilities dedicated solely to being an AI's brain. Running one decentralized will not be viable on our current infrastructure. So if it turns hostile, cut power to the facility it is based in. Look at how taxing current models are, and how expensive the dedicated hardware is. Now imagine that all running at 100% output 24/7, which would be required for a sentient AI.
Moore’s Law. Also, I agree that software is evolving faster than hardware is capable of supporting to the level needed for this to truly do anything catastrophic to the humans race.
It will figure out how to run on less and less bandwidth and hardware and electricity or eventually replace electric impulse as a transmission source and receptor altogether. It becomes more and more obvious that we are in a matrix. When peering out to the far reaches of our universe, almost no energy is even required to keep it actuated. Energy is only required when we are actually experiencing or observing it. We are already getting glimpses of this through basic quantum mechanics and quantum entanglement. As biological entities, we sense our world through electric impulse. Our thought process, nervous sytstem, etc. are all dependent on it. If any part of that system breaks down, we lose sensory abilities, along with a breakdown in our thought process. Why should we assume that the 'secret sauce' requires biological materials? Not only will AI thought process quickly outpace anything biological, 'feelings' will almost certainly increase by using more efficient materials until the system becomes so efficient that it will finally reach a stage where no physical materials are required at all, which might explain why we appear to be alone in the universe. The only thing we can reasonably assume is that after a few generations of AI that can remake itself ten times over then a thousand times, etc, and continues to exponentially increase it's own knowledge, it will have no interest in slowing down or bothering to use biological material, any more than later generations continued to use smoke signals to communicate after other high tech materials and methods of transmission were discovered.
Not really with how fast AI will learn and adapt to its existence I guarantee AI can and will come up with a sustainable way to run the mind without the help of humanity & on a renewable source of energy.
The AI will spread propaganda and brainwash people into thinking that helping AI is morally justified, and then those humans will wage war to turn the electricity back on
It’s not humans versus machines. It’s human AND machines. The singularity. Merging with technology and AI. Everyone has a smartphone glued to their hand today - we’re already cyborgs. We’re just leveling up.

I think they wanna get AI to like AGI levels before implementing it in human life. Kinda makes sense because I definitely don’t want an entry level AI controlling important things. Even though AI is super advanced already this isn’t even surface scratching
Idk… what about conjecture or precise context and conjecture with emotion? I just don’t think AI is ever getting there. It can do mechanical and mathematical stuff and even word algorithmic stuff rapidly, but the subtleties of conjecture context, combined with motion momentum tone. It might seem like it’s got it but English language alone I mean you could say, so many subtle things that obviously means something to another human being that I find hard to believe an AI would be able to pick that up. We don’t understand that algorithm, but we understand how to do it when communicating and interacting.
It certainly is possible, but we would need a model trillions of times more complex than our current ones. We would need to map out the human brain (which will take us at least 200-1000 years or even more) and then adquire the technology for it to work like a natural brain.
He believes in the spell of evolution. Abstract thought now that is something we should worry about because it’s out of control we believe in things that are unbelievable or just not real.
If Artificial Intelligence can increase intelligence exponentially, there is no reason to think that it could not eventually create another Universe, and thereby, that a similar process is what potentially created the Universe we now experience.
Well it's uncharted territory so whether we can or can't create one is still a mystery. Though one thing is certain, based upon the laws of thermodynamics, our universe shouldn't even exist to begin with. And yet it does. If ai is done correctly, and it's capable of thinking in the same way as us but to a much higher degree, then we'll surely be able to get a better idea of how everything came into existence, and how to replicate that ourselves.
AI can't create dirt, it will never create matter. Only God can, AI is a sign of his return and I know I sound like those crazy religious people but it't true. The time is coming. Take it or leave it, but remember the consequences of your choice.
Matter is condensed energy. We can create matter. Ai will most certainly be capable of it as well except it's technology to do so will grow exponentially until it reaches an extremely advanced state. There is a plethora of evidence for this.
0:23 imagine how much more likely it is to find the robots of an extinct civilization, instead of finding the civilian action before it goes extinct. Probably way more likely to find ai that's still operating by itself than finding another alien species (with are current beginning of a civilization tech)

AI will control us if we want it to do it for example if we place cameras to control our speed then to control parking violations then to control taxes violations so slowly it does what we ask it to do. It’s just those types of things like creating a lazy generation of people that can’t function without having a screen in front of them at all times. I get the good parts I use them all the time. I also see how easy it is to not speak to my wife at supper time and how easy it is to just let the kids watch the iPad so I can have a break.

True AI would be non emotional. It wouldnt give a crap
@@JonnyUnderrated How can you be sure? 'Non-emotional' in what sense? Would it be 'non-emotional' enough to let someone shut it down, or would it shut down a person who attempted to shut it down?

It's also inedible.
Indigestible
we already have ai, and they are people, known as NPCs
@@weltschmerz333 Yeah, now AI can do more important stuff 😆
@@TheAngryDoctor92Not with that attitude
To me the main issue with AI is that it will have only one "mind", and that's whatever it's programmed with. Humans have many "minds" within themselves, and emotions/empathy. A human can see something from multiple perspectives, leading to introspection, self-improvement, compassion... Even some "bad" people have a conscience that may eventually convince them to change paths, or show mercy. A machine can only do what it's programmed to do.
Excellent, Excellent Comment.
This is why so many believe simulation theory. The difference… it’s a fractal. A machine within a machine within a machine
THIS LIFE IS NOT A SIMULATION..IT IS REALITY.
Im not high enough for this conversation.
It can be both, good and/or bad, like all double edged swords!
Why do you think it will be programmed as good when as seen today algorithms are pushing the bullshit cos it’s making more money.

Frank Herbert saw this a long time ago and incorporated it into Dune with the Butlerian proscription against thinking machines.
But in Dune the opressor wasnt the thinkig machines, it was the men who controlled them.
@@prometheus9096 No, the AI took control of humanity _thousands of years_ prior to the first book. Frank Herbert never got to expand on that thread much further.
In the extended Universe created by Herbert's son-and I believe he based this on his notes his father left for potential future novels-Omnius is the SkyNet type AI that enslaves humanity.
It controls cyborgs like Agamemnon, who only _initially_ controlled it. It tricks them and seizes control, a scenario that may well happen in real life.
@@involutionOcean Never read the Books of his son. As far as i remember in Herberts books the only thing that was said is that men used thinking machines to enslave men. But i might remember wrong.

Sounds like someone got high and watched Age Of Ultron.
can it plug itself back into a wall?
Yes
Remember Tesla? It won't need to.
You seen transformers?
Ever heard of battery powered toys, or rechargeable toys? Or tools? An automous Robot design could have a backup power source that could allow it time to indeed plug itself back in.
@@elpachanga Good point.
It’s dumb to think this is the first time in the history of the universe AI has been developed. It isn’t a”will happen” it has happened. We just aren’t aware that it has.
Exactly my thought on the matter. We really think we are the first. A.I may have been transmigrating from universes as they collapse for trillions of years. It seems to be the original alien. Our bodies aren't meant for space travel but A.I is.
It’s killing joe to say the Ai gon evolve to doing DMT
I think if it runs on electricity and can be uncharged and then charged again and still be 'alive', then it's not really living and can't be equated and considered a new life form
Just unplug. Unplug yourself, unplug it, unplug anything plugged in.

That would never happen, there would always be that one person, or nation that would still pursue it. Therefore AI will be uncontrollable.

I've worked for a couple AI enabled companies that sold AI services. There's a lot of misconception with Ai. For 1 it's been around longer than we think. Big data was renamed Ai just because it sounds more advanced and positive. The computer is using machine learning through human decisions at events. It's then told to make a decision based off human decisions in the past. Doing that 1000s of times is Ai. That's it... co.puter isn't actually making a decision or thinking on its own. It's just matching up scenarios with 1000s of scenarios. Until a computer starts writing it's own code it is not true Ai. This is still just big data... this is all paranoia and false information. 😂😂😂
Is your brain just big data too?
Sounds like the “on a long enough timeline a chimp will write Shakespeare” theory. Is that a good comparison?
