It is his fault that he is not recognized , he left the music industry for years. People are very quick to forget. That and never releasing anything else ( other than Badlands).

So right you are sir. I still have my Jake E. concert T-shirt from the Ultimate Sin tour @ Riverbend Music Center in Cincinnati in '86 when Metallica opened on the MoP tour. Just a pic of Jake E. Coolest shirt they had! (well, the MoP shirt was badass too tho to be honest 😛). But man, what a concert!!
So after the show, my dudes and I got a wee bit smashed 💥👊🏻💥 As night turned to morning, I got hungry as you tend to do at the tail end of a night of slammin' cold units... 🍺
All I could find to eat was ketchup and bread. ☹ So I made ketchup🥫 sandwiches. (quite delicious when you're in the state I was in...was it Kansas? Iowa? Toledo?? Who knows! I was soused! 🤪)
While feasting, a big blob of ketchup🥫 fell on my new Jake E. shirt!! GAH!! And I forgot to use stain remover in the wash, so the barely visible ketchup🥫 stain is still there to remind me of what a good time we had that night.
Anyway, keep rockin' Jake E. You're one of the true greats!! 🎸🤘🤘

Top 2 for sure. Bark at the Moon is the best Jake E Lee sing and Mr. Crowley is the best Randy Rhoads song. Although Tonight i on DOAMM is close to Mr. Crowley.
The solo is very very influenced by Edward Van Halen's ON FIRE solo.

This was a sh1t rendition of the solo, not sure what you were listening to bro. Jake laid down some incredible stuff with Ozzy and Badlands but his best days are well behind him, unfortunately
live shows are rarely clean and every note is not picked

My absolute favorite guitar player of all time since I first saw him in '83
I know Jake wasn't too interested in the musical style Ozzy wanted, but rather went for a bluesier tone (which he did with Badlands), but holy hell didn't Oz and Jake produce some brilliant songs back in the day...
And his comeback with the first Red Dragon Cartel album was absolutely fantastic too!!!
Actually ozzy screwed Jake over and took all the song writing credits to the album same with ultimate sin leading Jake to leave the band or getting fired so I would say Jake produced most of his albums rather than ozzy

What more to say that everyone else hasn’t said? This is one of the greatest guitar solos (and rhythms) in hard rock guitar, The composition, the phrasing, the soulful bends, the soaring high notes and aggressive vibrato- I’m not sure how you convey how hard this hit when it came out. And it has clearly stood the test of time. His name is Jake E. Lee and he is absolutely one of the greats.

I remember my sister bringing home BATM when I was ten. I scoffed at it after seeing the album cover because I was into rap. Then she put it on. My mind was blown. I ditched hip hop and went full blown hard rock. I owe Jake for help making me a head banger for life. Most songs are lucky if it contains one killer guitar solo, Bark At The Moon has two of the very best ever recorded.
“Rock’n’roll Rebel” has such a cool riff. Cool and kickass like Gary Moore’s “Murder in the Skies” riff…

Jake is criminally under rated as a guitarist. The man is amazing and his song writing is second to none. He is in my top 10 favorites. Hell he is in my top 5 along with Randy, Zakk, Slash and John Sykes. That’s my top 5 rock guitarist of all time.

Met him and the rest of Badlands in ‘89. My cousin and I brought a guitar along with us at a meet and greet before the show. Dude gave me a short guitar lesson! That was an awesome experience!
He does it so effortlessly and his execution is almost always flawless. I wish he had made more music with Ozzy.
