      The University Of Alabama Digital Library has fantastic collection of photos and documents from Woodward & TCI Well worth your time to visit the site.

      thank you i love the pictures i use the maps as overlays with satellites to find mines and other locations using topographical analysis. watching your videos makes me want to go find all the other locations i havent been to yet and i really want to go in some of these mines to look around. i have a book that was given to my great uncle he worked at woodward it shows and talks about the mines and the plants iv never seen another one just a picture the cover i also have book of mine disaster that starts 1800s to the 1990s it has all the one in alabama from virginia mines to banner .marvel and any you can think of it tells what happen flood or fire

      With regards to your uncle, did he have any knowledge of the Pyne Mine off of Hwy 150 at Lacy's Chapel? One of the biggest mines on Red Mountain operated by Woodward. I have been compiling so much information on this stuff it is endless. thanks for the post. Always great to get more history from other folks.

      he lost his leg in pyne mine he also run the hoist there

      Google: Engineering & Mining Journal April 1921 Constructing The Songo & Pyne Mine Shafts. You might have to switch to Google Books but it is a great article on how they built these vertical shafts.
