Danco Perfect seal with the combo wax ring worked excellent. The blue rubber sealed really well on the toilet and you get the sealing benefits of the wax. I notice they go on sale frequently for around $10
What he missed was the Danco has a firm black plastic insert that should be removed if needed depending on the height of the flange. Removing it allows the rubber to better firmly press upwards against the toilet horn rim . The blue piece should be added if more height is needed... But the inner black plastic piece can stop the toilet from correctly engaging the floor, and most people don't know it's in there or that it can come out !
Great review! Just used the Korky to repair our primary toilet and I did get a leak the first time and had to reseat it but seems good to go now. Our secondary toilet needs to come out so I was searching for what other options there may be that are wax free. Great information here and really helped me make an informed decision!
I was just checking that Danco yesterday at the store. Looks slick. Only thing I didn't like was the hole diameter on the Danco was slightly smaller than the traditionalwax ring hole (maybe ¼" - I couldn't tell exactly how much due to the packaging). My thought is the smaller diameter equals more clogs from thick turds.
Here's a good question: another video states that over time, depending on how often the toilet gets cleaned, what bowl cleaners are use, the bleach used can deteriorate the blue portion of the seal. I probably will still will use the Danco as it looks better. Thanks again 🤓
The issue that all these products are trying to solve is the flange not sitting on top of the finished floor. That is the cause of the leak. The seal (on a property flanged waste pipe) is to stop sewer gases, not water leakage. I just replaced my broken flange and tried the Korky. I seems to be keeping my toilet from setting on the tile. Seems like the solution will be plain old wax.
I'm having a problem with my Water Closet leaking from the wax ring, I'm a retired plumber & have always used wax rings, and wax ring extensions if needed. The problem I'm having is that the tile it sits on is not perfectly level, so it has rocked loose. The last time I fixed it I used grout from the flange bolts all the way around to the front of the W/C & had no problems for the last eighteen years but once again it has managed to rock loose. I'm going with the Korky this time, along with using grout to keep it from rocking. I'll be tearing out the bathroom in September to replace the flooring and update the fixtures so I hope the wax-free ring will work at least until then. On older homes with uneven floor tile, it can be a pain in the arse when the toilet rocks a little bit causing the wax ring to fail.
I've tried some of the waxless Rings they don't work too many places like this guy showed to leak also the last one which was the Danko wax and plastic combination looks better than the waxless haven't used one I use the oatey reinforced wax ring they've always worked for me I periodically check the bolts on my toilet to make sure they're snug my upstairs toilet was installed 20 years ago and it's never leaked my downstairs one was installed 10 years ago that has never leaked
Had trouble with the Danco. The seal is too tough and I could not get the toilet to seat against the floor. I keep tighten the nuts but the gap is still more than 1/8". The nut is getting tight so I don't want to take any risk of cracking the ceramic, I replaced with the Korky which has much softer seal. So far so good.
Will Danco perfect seal work with older lead flange? My flange is same height as my ceramic tile floor but my concern is this..... Respect Animals 3 years ago Two big dislikes. My flange is flush with my floor so I didn't use the blue adapter as per the instructions. My toilet rocked side to side so I removed the toilet to take out the black insert (also as per the instructions) and was shocked to see how much paper thin wax was pushed downward beyond the horn & ready to go down the drain. I'm glad I saw it in time. -- By the way, the rocking continued after removing the black insert. Perfect Seal was about an 1/8 inch too tall for my flush to the floor flange & my 2019 Toto toilet # C454CUFG. I went back to a regular wax ring and the toilet sat flush on the floor.
Got the Danco because even after a while the extra thick wax wears out and the blue ring you put on the toilet create a great seal due to the fact mines wasn’t as high as it should be also I just put it on the toilet put some ky lube and ot slide right in ;)
The wax ring is the equivalent of the 19th century buggy whip. Its time to stop using them. These Nasty single use unreliable gaskets should be banned.
I tried the fluidmaster product. Seem to work welll, if you don’t have experience installing dozens of toilets you are likely to ruin a wax seal. Further cleaning out the wax is time consuming and messy should the toilet ever need to come out one day.

Both the korky and danco are fantastic. I have used both for wall and floor mount applications.
Danco held my toilet off the floor. Even with removing the extension pc and the black plastic. Used the better than wax instead and worked well.
How can you make a comparison products you’ve never used. This is the exact conversation I had with myself while shopping for one.
I've used them all
@@GetToThePointplz123 Ouch! Rule No. 1, never assume.

The prices are higher now. The Danco wax ring seal is $14 at Lowe's. The Korky is $13 and the fluid master is $10.

Try using plastic shims with some clear silicone to hold shims in place, cut excess shim off with razor blade
Indeed it did help me, thank you.
nice review 👍 what model toilet is that?

I like the perfect seal...got has wax within the rubber..

You were supposed to remove the inner black plastic ring when that happend.
Did the longer bolts come with the seal kit?
Yes
Love the channel name!
😊 thnx
I used the Danco one and can say it works since its an improvement over wax only method.
Nice👍

I am looking at the Daco as well, how has your's held up, any issue?
No issues, I like this product
Interesting, thanks for the vid!
thnx berry much !
I just used the corky, but I do like the danko now that I see it.
"That was a pain in the butt"...no pun intended.
Danko didn’t work for me. Leaked.
Yea an extra $10 to save lots of headache is worth it…
