wow. This is the best demo of contrast that i have seen. through trial and error i kinda figured it out by myself. This is good for the new people that dont understand it yet.
Awesome and inspiring as usual! I was exactly thinking about portraying my mum and dad (77 and 82) in a flattering way and your tips always come in VERY useful! Thanks so much Lindsay!❤
Great video, Lindsay. All these thoughts just to get a glimpse of the personality of the person within the frame are wonderful to watch. The lady looks very relaxed and that makes her even more attractive. A sign for a positive atmosphere on set, I guess. For me the most important aspect of getting good results. Greetings from Nuremberg, Germany.
Being an event photographer that covers theatre opening night events this video really hits the mark for me. Many of those in attendance on opening night and after party tend to be the theatre’s top patrons and are often older and wrinkles are prevalent. Thanks as always for an excellent tutorial.
Never went to a formal photo school but I would talk to a lot of old photographers over the years. One rule of thumb was that the younger the subject the harder the light, the older the subject the softer the light for that very reason of skin texture. This holds true for men as well as women. Not all old steel workers want to look like a grizzled Ernest Hemingway. The psychology behind photographing people, as told to me by the old pros was that young people want to look like fashion models, and older people just want to look young.
Great video as always. I'm always learning from you. I'm thankful you covered this topic as most of us are not dealing with 20 year old gorgeous gals with flawless skin. (Not being negative, but being real). 😊
great stuff and I have worked in the same ways with these approaches and I enjoy using bounce cards and reflectors - however it got me thinking and I was wondering about the idea of a large fill light from camera position such as a 5ft translucent umbrella that is straight on to subject - is that something you might recommend or can it make things too flat
Brilliant as usual. BUT. Annoying as hell, cuz now I need to go and get me one of them 3 foot octas, for Broncolor the most overpriced.... The use and utilization of white flats, seamless, walls and ceilings can never be over emphasized. Proof is in the pudding. Love our videos. My Bookkeeper does not. ❤😈 🤗 ~TEU
I see Lindsay - I click and I LEARN 💯💯
Every. Single. Time.

Excellent, as always 😃😊
Helpful as always!
Great information, I've also found, as an older woman myself, when I shoot in my demographic, we all look better when we're smiling.
I mean, smiling is just beautiful regardless!
Such a great informative video. Thank you.

Beautifully done 😊❤
Well done!
