Noel & Touch Of Rock always reppin' the real tru skool art of rocking! Big ups 2 all the real tru skoolers who show skills for the. next generation of rockers.
I'm from Bushwick Lorimer and Montrose Ave My older brother used to run with the Deceptions but was wicked all around would uprock then crush it with one hand Jack Hammers to windmills and back up for some more Uprocking This video gives me that feel from when I was growing up learning from my older brothers Solid 👑👑
A little story time I remember being 17 going on 18 in 1976-77 every Friday and Saturday the 'ELECTRIFYING SOUNDS OF APP' would come to the park it had two entrances Linden or Grove Street to DJ right out of his white van I used to help with getting the electricity from the street light pole he would situate his speaker about and ROCK the entire park sometime it got so intense that the police would shut APP down only to start again later the rock dance competitions were enormous and music was plentiful here are some of the music off hand that I remember 1) BABY HUEY - LISTEN TO ME. 2) JAMES BROWN - SEX MACHINE. 3) BOBBY BYRD - I'M COMING. 4) BARRABA - WOMAN. 5) THE MEXICAN BABE RUTH FIRST BASE 5) RARE EARTH - GET READY. 6) INCREDIBLE BONGO BAND- APACHE, ETC ETC ETC........THERE ARE MORE basically they rock to this music. Time to say goodbye thanks for the memories. By the way, BUZ the original BUZ is my brother-in-law we don't talk for certain reasons, my brother designed the VEST TOUCH OF ROCK WORE the colors were blue and white, white lettering with white trimmings. and to think today I am 66 years old god bless to all.
Nice! True I Agree with you about Cuz He was in a class by himself. I was a touch of Rock back the Days and Give a lot of credit to Buz Duz Sparky and all the Djs that ever jammed in linden park this brings back awesome memories left Bushwick 25 years ago peace to all. From Orlando Florida

proper joint care is essential to maintaining your joints into your later years regardless of if u drop all the way or not, same with sports, bboying, other dances..take care of your body and it will take care of you
It's about time somebody put that into perspective. Queens uprock, although everyone thought so at the time, did not come from Brooklyn. Noel is clearly right when he said he wasn't sure where the other style came from. It came from the Bronx, but was later transformed by Queens, combining freestyle kick dance into it. Glad to see your still uprocking Noel, peace....
Thanks for sharing. I never knew that Rocking existed. I spent most of the 1980s breaking and in the Boston area we only were familiar with "Brooklyn Rock" basic battle movement mixed in with our 2 step top rock. You can see how dance evolves. I can see how rocking transformed into Breakdance and even House dancing. Thanks again, very interesting
i wish i had someone who passed on me that kind of knowledge..... some bboys like me had to educate by ourselves because of the lack of hip hop culture in my country.......thnx peace!!
thank you this was very informative. not a uprocker myself, but i always wondered about how some people jerk all the way down and some don't. never knew it had something to do with the knees thought it was just a style preference kinda thing.
There are two songs being matched up and both are from the Jimmy Castor Bunch. "Troglodyte" (what we're gonna do right here is go back...) & "It's Just Begun" (the latter being the dope).
@funkman70: I'm feeling you brother. I'm 40 now and my left knee is shot. I'm teaching b-boying at my high school (I'm a teacher) and at a YMCA camp this summer. I gotta keep it going...even if I'm not getting as low.
Noel, the reason the knees got messed up.... is not the depth...he still moves well for his age. Knees go over time....they just do. NOT WARMING UP and preparing your body for the work you are about to do is the reason all the young knees became older than the persons actual age.

why most bboys as they age, still break, but tend to move on to popping and locking: as the knees aren't put under as much strain or stress.
