The uncertainty whether the person signing "freak, you're such a freak" is Miku or just Gumi pitched up makes this so much cooler. Because it makes it hard to tell if it's genuinly Miku snapping and defending herself by calling out Gumi; or if it's Gumi putting fake words in Miku's mouth to try and make her seem like a bad person.

For me this video is not about murder... in a literal sense, at least. Gumi is a paparazzi/blogger/just some sick fuck who crossed Miku's path. Maybe Miku did something to Gumi, maybe it's the other way around, or, maybe, just maybe, Gumi just wants clout for exposing Miku for anything she can find on her. Either way, Gumi is hellbent on exposing an idol for who she really is by taking shots and videos of her private life, or actually, leaking messages from screenshots (in the start of the video Gumi literally says "These screenshots tell stories"). In an art she literally ripped her heart out, as in, true nature, for the world to see and photographs it, and by revealing a human behind Miku's mask she "killed" an idol. Maybe Miku didn't even do anything wrong, and Gumi pretty much just doxed an idol, ending her career one way or another, twisting her private conversations and life to make her seem bad. I think this is a commentary on how some people gain popularity by exposing others flaws, no matter if they're major or minor, something like cancel culture, or all those videos like "X EXPOSED FOR BEING AN X OMG Oo~OMG!~!!", and about all the kids who try to leak each others private information for stupid reason and sick pleasure.

If I knew how I would make a animatic for this bc it’s really good and paints a very disturbing picture of Stan and cancel culture where celebrities every move is watched and idolized and any moment of weakness is capitalized on and made viral. Mikus death here could very very well be metaphorical, a fate worse than death for someone in the entertainment industry and public eye. My theory is that Gumi in this is an unstable "gossip girl" type who's stalking Miku and found out from a mutual "friend" that she's planning to secretly meet with a guy Gumi likes (or maybe is dating?) so she stalks them to a club to try and out her. Once she gets there Miku is actually in the middle of a bad situation (maybe he tries to take it a lot farther than she wanted?) and has a break down that only gets worse when she sees Gumi filming the whole thing. Miku ends up calling her out & yells that she's a freak which causes Gumi to have a complete break. Then Gumi just straight-up murders her in the middle of the club, taking pictures afterwards.

Title seems really accurate, It seems like a story about a upcoming Idol with her 'world' where she slowly breaks down over time due to Paparazzi's painting her in a terrible light using all kinds of means like petty lies and rumors to "paint a knife" making her look like the guilty suspect. She ends up breaking down to the point of breaking her Idol facade and calls Gumi a freak and Gumi basically shrugs it off and it seems like she even taunts/encourages/mocks Miku as Miku falls into dispair most likely making the imagery actually true. You can see Gumi holding up what seems to be Miku's heart which is most likely her work that she's 'marked' (Like a news article with her name on it) for all to see. It sounds like Gumi uses the fact that Miku shares some of her private life(heart) and her thoughts or opinions (mind) on camera to catch her in 'petty lies'. The Bestie part in the beginning is most likely just a hammering point to show how Paparazzi spread rumors and gossips and making Gumi appear unhuman as the story of Miku's life unfolds. It's an amazing song that I'll listen for many more years to come for sure. after listening to this song about 438 times in the car during a long road trip, i now have a theory. This theory revolves around the lyrics “Hey bestie, don’t worry! These screenshots tell stories”, “You saw him? He’s h0rny..” and “I caught her, it’s gory!” SO: GUMI has a best friend, which in this case let’s say MEIKO is her best friend. GUMI soon finds out that MEIKO’s boyfriend (KAITO, in this case) has been cheating. She finds out that the other girl that he was cheating with was Miku, a popular girl (hence why she is represented as a celebrity in this song) And so once GUMI catches Miku at a party, she decides to avenge her best friend. The uncertainty whether the person signing "freak, you're such a freak" is Miku or just Gumi pitched up makes this so much cooler.
Because it makes it hard to tell if it's genuinly Miku snapping and defending herself by calling out Gumi; or if it's Gumi putting fake words in Miku's mouth to try and make her seem like a bad person.
I saw it as Gumi calling Miku out and mimicking her voice personally but yeah, it's amazing.

didn't see anyone else mention this so i thought i'd point it out - it's a rlly nice touch to censor miku, it's like how people on social media will sometimes censor the names of ppl/things they don't like to keep their post from showing up in searches.
For me this video is not about murder... in a literal sense, at least. Gumi is a paparazzi/blogger/just some sick fuck who crossed Miku's path. Maybe Miku did something to Gumi, maybe it's the other way around, or, maybe, just maybe, Gumi just wants clout for exposing Miku for anything she can find on her. Either way, Gumi is hellbent on exposing an idol for who she really is by taking shots and videos of her private life, or actually, leaking messages from screenshots (in the start of the video Gumi literally says "These screenshots tell stories"). In an art she literally ripped her heart out, as in, true nature, for the world to see and photographs it, and by revealing a human behind Miku's mask she "killed" an idol. Maybe Miku didn't even do anything wrong, and Gumi pretty much just doxed an idol, ending her career one way or another, twisting her private conversations and life to make her seem bad. I think this is a commentary on how some people gain popularity by exposing others flaws, no matter if they're major or minor, something like cancel culture, or all those videos like "X EXPOSED FOR BEING AN X OMG Oo~OMG!~!!", and about all the kids who try to leak each others private information for stupid reason and sick pleasure.

If I knew how I would make a animatic for this bc it’s really good and paints a very disturbing picture of Stan and cancel culture where celebrities every move is watched and idolized and any moment of weakness is capitalized on and made viral. Mikus death here could very very well be metaphorical, a fate worse than death for someone in the entertainment industry and public eye. Or her rabid fans, specifically gumi, may have actually straight up killed her.

My theory is that Gumi in this is an unstable "gossip girl" type who's stalking Miku and found out from a mutual "friend" that she's planning to secretly meet with a guy Gumi likes (or maybe is dating?) so she stalks them to a club to try and out her. Once she gets there Miku is actually in the middle of a bad situation (maybe he tries to take it a lot farther than she wanted?) and has a break down that only gets worse when she sees Gumi filming the whole thing. Miku ends up calling her out & yells that she's a freak which causes Gumi to have a complete break. Then Gumi just straight-up murders her in the middle of the club, taking pictures afterwards.

Title seems really accurate, It seems like a story about a upcoming Idol with her 'world' where she slowly breaks down over time due to Paparazzi's painting her in a terrible light using all kinds of means like petty lies and rumors to "paint a knife" making her look like the guilty suspect. She ends up breaking down to the point of breaking her Idol facade and calls Gumi a freak and Gumi basically shrugs it off and it seems like she even taunts/encourages/mocks Miku as Miku falls into dispair most likely making the imagery actually true. You can see Gumi holding up what seems to be Miku's heart which is most likely her work that she's 'marked' (Like a news article with her name on it) for all to see. It sounds like Gumi uses the fact that Miku shares some of her private life(heart) and her thoughts or opinions (mind) on camera to catch her in 'petty lies'. The Bestie part in the beginning is most likely just a hammering point to show how Paparazzi spread rumors and gossips and making Gumi appear unhuman as the story of Miku's life unfolds. It's an amazing song that I'll listen for many more years to come for sure.

after listening to this song about 438 times in the car during a long road trip, i now have a theory.
This theory revolves around the lyrics “Hey bestie, don’t worry! These screenshots tell stories”, “You saw him? He’s h0rny..” and “I caught her, it’s gory!”
SO: GUMI has a best friend, which in this case let’s say MEIKO is her best friend.
GUMI soon finds out that MEIKO’s boyfriend (KAITO, in this case) has been cheating. She finds out that the other girl that he was cheating with was Miku, a popular girl (hence why she is represented as a celebrity in this song)
And so once GUMI catches Miku at a party, she decides to avenge her best friend. And she does this by murdering her (or in reality, her reputation)
In the PV where GUMI is holding Miku’s heart and taking a selfie, this could be a representation of exposing Miku online. And so, she loses her lifeline (popularity) and is now deceased. (an outcast)
