The Greens are dealing with their grief over the death of Aegon's heir and no one seems willing to support anyone in the family D: Alicent feels too guilty to support her sons, Otto pushes for his daughter and grand-daughter to put their sadness on display for his plans and next to them all, Criston, who feels like he's sullied his white cloak once more, sends Ser Arryk undercover to kill Rhaenyra o.o

otto just leaving alicent to deal with the mess in kings landing is insane. i get otto’s reasoning to an extent, but this puts a lot on her plate. it does feel like he’s abandoned her and the family.
Rhae rhae knew exactly who daemon was when she begged him to stay and help her win this war.. lol
True.. i can also think that maybe a part of Rhaenyra thought that she could change him for the better ( Huge maybe) 😅

To be honest I don't understand why Otto reacted this way.
It was just the second time when Aegon didn't listen to him, the first time was him giving money to the smiths.
Plus Otto did the same in ep 9 when ser Caswell was hanging in the castle. Aegon killed like what, 10 ratcatchers? And it would destroy his reputation? I doubt in 1 million city many people would be concerned if Otto wanted the support of smallfolk, but even this problem was easy to solve - say ratcatchers were in conspiracy with Cheese, that's all. They all worked in the castle, so it would be believable.
And it's not like nobles have ever gave a damn about smallfolk, so great houses would still be affected by Jaehaerys's murder,they wouldn't even hear the news about some ratcatchers being killed. Remember what Daemon did in ep 1?Remember what nobles did to them in GOT and it barely had any effect? Yeah , apparently only Aegon's deed are crucial.
Again, it was a second time when Aegon acted without Otto's advice. Otto being so worried about this, as if the support of smallfolk is now completely damaged and as if it super important anyway - is overreacting. He should have known better. His grandson was listening to him 90% of the time and did one bad thing after Jaehaerys' murder. And Otto had a reaction like this? Called him a fool? I swear, I only saw Otto being a fool because Aegon was easy to contol, he just needed a break after his son was murdered.
In the book, Otto simply orders cats to be brought to the castle instead of rat catchers. Yes, Aegon also removes Otto and appoints Criston as his hand, but because Aegon wanted military action and not write letters to houses (the words “I want to spill blood not ink” refers to this), here the creators of the show wanted a more dramatic scene in which the main idea and message is "Aegon is such an idiot that even Otto missed Viserys" (who refused to name Aegon as heir, refused to marry him to Rhaenyra, covered for Rhaenyra's bastards and fired Otto by accusing him of murder before this- totally better than Aegon, yes?) - but if we think a little more about their behavior - the message is completely lost, because Otto behaved unprofessionally and stupidly the most, not Aegon.
Watching the end of the first episode in season 1 again shows a lot of truth to daemon’s whole stance in his argument with rhaenyra. His brother instantly believes otto’s claim about daemon’s speech after his nephew’s death and makes rhaenyra the heir. Daemon was the only person even telling viserys that otto isn’t even trying to protect him but he refused to listen and we are seeing how that is ruining his whole family
Ive been saying this for the longest daemon and Otto r two side of the same coin. They are upset with their kings and queens because neither listen to them, they both want to be in control, and when they not in control they both over step. The only difference between them is that they use different tools to attack their enemies. Daemon uses the blade and otto has his tongue.
Daemon and otto are the poison of both teams and because daemon committed blood and cheese all the greens prior propaganda that if daemon and rhaenyra would succeed to the iron throne that they would become the next Maegor......which basically seems true.
Anyone else notice the parallel with rhaenyra calling out daemon manipulation in this episode like how Alicent confront Otto with his manipulation in episode 9.
Criston plan actually almost worked if the white worm wasn’t there I feel rhaenyra would be dead. I also feel like the writers just want to make criston n alicent look in a bad light with how they r writing these characters.

The greens side thought they were untouchable after usurping the throne and didn’t think about any wouldn’t happen when that is just insane especially since they know how daemon or anyone against them would retaliate and poor innocent helaena had to paid the price for no reason because of her greedy family, I find it funny how aegon only cared about his son because he was the “ legitimate heir” but had the nerve to talk so much shit about his sister rhaenrya when queen of bastards is his title since we’ve learned he has a lot and loves watching them in fighting pits oh but now he’s the father of year😂😒🤡 talking about he “ declares war” like boy it was started the moment your mother and grandpa put you on the throne so too little too late bud💀 I do feel a lil bad for him but he was acting all cocky/mighty and the rest of the family did not care for rhaenrya who lost her son first because of them and now the tables have turned, it’s so sad to think the green family is so much more dysfunctional and that they don’t see each other as family but rather than to use each other for their own political gain, rhaenrya was the only who actually cared for sweet helaena than her actual green family smh, alicent once again making it about her rather than be there for her children who needs her support now more than ever but I keep forgetting her father was never good or loving to her so of course she’s repeating the same cycle let alone not even trying to change for their sake and that will be her downfall since it’s already showing sadly, Rhaenrya looks so good especially in this season lol 😂 and daemon’s face scene had me giggling but I do get both sides of the argument cause daemon maybe rogue but I do think he loves his family but has a funny way of showing it so I think that’s why he’s going to harrenhul to prove to Rhaenrya he loves and loyal and mostly gain her trust even tho it’s uncertain how he will do it, I do feel he hates visery’s for choosing the wrong people over him as usual like Otto who wanted to break up his bond with visery’s so he can stay in power, daemon was literally telling viserys of who Otto truly was and how he’s too blinded by his weakness to see that he is damaging his own family in the long run like aka passing Rhaenrya up her whole life for a son that he dreamed about until it killed her mother and when the small counsel didn’t want daemon he chose his daughter to spite him after the “heir for a day” comment by someone else who we didn’t hear nor see dameon say it but Otto said it was him so visery’s chose to believe sneaky Otto over his own brother then threw his daughter to the wolves by making her heir without actually politically protecting and making sure her claim the throne will be smooth sailing but no he remarried and had sons that he always wanted over her but failed them too and knew the realm would want a male heir over her so he plunged the realm into chaos which is why the family war is happening now sadly, I’m team Rhaenrya all the way and I need her to go hard like never before!😂🔥😭 Otto got ahead of himself once again and is now surprised that aegon did something against his wishes when he’s been like that since day 1 so idk why Otto is acting like this when it’s his fault for Al of this so that’s what he gets for placing aegon as king over Rhaenrya but he was funny tho 😂 the way he was talking viserys as if he cared about him cause no buddy you only missed him when it suited you to control and manipulate him so now that you can’t do that with aegon who’s way different your missing viserys like boy bye😂🤡😒 I hate crusty Cole sm and i can’t wait to see him go seriously like he’s so salty and obsessed with Rhaenrya like move on!😤, the twins scene broke my heart and rhaenrya can’t catch a break and I honestly don’t blame her if she starts to become paranoid at this point cause I would😭🥺🤧 I think alicent is playing a dangerous game with unhinged Cole now that he’s the hand cause it wouldn’t put it past me that if she were to do something he doesn’t like then he will probably influence aegon to turn against her now but that’s gonna be her fault for keeping that man alive anyways who can’t even do his job but still get promoted!🤡💀🤦🏾♀️ great episode and good reactions you guys!😌🔥🔥💖
Rhaenyra didn't give clear instructions to Daemon either. She said 4 words "I want Aemond Targeryan".
Daemon was ready to go to Harrenhall when she came back. They were all ready to discuss war strategies. But Rhae wanted blood.
So when she looked directly at him and said that. He went and did what he thought was right... Now you can't put all the blame on him
Well...she didn't say anything to him about how to do this, but she clearlt said "I want Aemond Targaryen"...he didn't kill Aemond, he killed an innocent child :/
When Aegon says- Criston Cole acted I was so pissed lol Yea he was super active destroying your mom while your child is being beheaded...Sorry to be vulgar but his steel fist is gonna be up your mom by the end of the episode lmao Criston Cole keeps failing upwards and it's so infuriating...With this said I would be highly worried if I were him, the fact that you get promoted to right hand of the King meanwhile banging his mom in his back doing the 50 Shades of Green every night instead of being on your watch, with the fact that Mr.Footfetish master of whispers wants Alicient and wants your new job and is gonna feel robbed, chances are the lid is gonna blow over this thing really quick, at least I freaking hope so

Daemon loves Rhaenyra and he suports her claim to the throne. I don't think he wants the throne, because he would've done something by now. But i do believe he has a resentment towards viserys for not choosing him as heir or hand when he had the chance. Also is true that viserys was weak as a king, and his actions were the main reason the civil war happened. He married Alicent, he chose Otto as hand instead of Daemon, he loved Rhaenyra more than his others sons, he did not let Rhaenyra and Daemon marry and forced her to marry Laenor which couldn't give her chlidren so she ended up having "bastards" and there lies all the issue. Anyway, I think Daemon is impulsive, sometimes agressive and he do wants revenge but he is not wrong about his brother, and he does all the things he does thinking of his wife, although almost everything turns out wrong haha
Basically, yeah xD he carries a lot of resentment with him and he needs to face it, because he's damaging both his wife's reputation and their relationship

It’s like who do u hate more a hypocrite with a hypocrite lifestyle or the wife and child killer who groomed his own niece n gets abusive to her when he don’t get his way. Criston any day over daemon
