    I will be buying it for digging holes. My soil is hard and I can't dig and bend over again and again. Great demo.

    Laura, for you who plants bulbs in volume, I recommend a tip I learned years ago from a PBS show. Dig up the planting area to the proper depth (excess soil can temporarily be placed on a tarp) and arrange bulbs as thickly as you'd like, if desired, add fertilizer then cover with reserved soil. You can even intersperse the bed with smaller bulbs at a higher elevation. I, too, have a drill auger and TWO bulb diggers. This method is by far the easiest and quickest. You'll thank me come bulb planting time when your expanding tummy gets harder to work around. 😆 If you have problems with critters digging up bulbs, add a piece of chicken wire or hardware cloth a couple inches above the bulbs (some even fashion a box to enclose the bulbs--too much work).

    I recently bought the Drill Till tool on Amazon just based on it's claims but was unsure how to assemble and use it because it did not include instructions but instead you are directed to a website on how to assemble and use it.For this reason I decided to see if You Tube had any instructional videos on it which it does but Garden Answer you by far had the most concise and easy to follow video.Because of this I have subscribed to your channel and plan to watch more of your informative videos.Thank you for posting them and best wishes.

    I'm thinking the tilling tool might have been designed for skimming annual weeds and moss and stuff from soil that has been neglected a bit, I don't really see any other purpose it has or any other job that it would make easier

    that hole in the grass would be good aeration and you could drop in some compost for each hole to help the soil.

  • @STEVENRAY18
    @STEVENRAY18 7 років тому

    By looking at that thing the way it is designed if you would leave the Weider or the weed digging part of the tool on there at the same time that you have the little tiller part it would probably do a lot better for the tilling

    Until the company may make a larger hole disc, if the digger is used to make several holes in a circle right next to each other you will have one big hole for a one gallon, etc. I do agree with your review though

    Hi Laura, I have seen these 4 wheel stool for the vegetable garden or flower garden. The wheels are a good size and the seat is a tractor seat. I would like for you to test one of these out if you could ? I have a horrible back and being able to set would help me in the garden a lot.
    You might find this handy right now lol.
    I hope you will test one of these out before I put a lot of money in one that's not good.
    Thanks Laura for everything you and Aaron do.

    Hello ! Question: I have a courtyard and we've tried grass seed and while it rained wonderfully in Spring (So. California) and the seed germinated it didn't last. So we've decided to create beddings. Do I just pull out the existing grass and just lay gravel over the soil? How do I prepare the area for gravel? Thank you for your time.

    • @gardenanswer
      @gardenanswer  7 років тому +2

      Depending on the size of job we'll either rent a sod lifter (if it's a large area), or remove it by hand (we have a video on how we do it). Then, if the area is just going to be graveled, like in my new garden area between my raised beds, I lay landscape fabric down first to help keep weeds out, but if the area is to be planted with anything (like in flower beds), I don't use the fabric.

      In the summer right after the blooms fade, and before replanting trim the leaves down to only a few inches. Also make sure some of the rhizome is exposed to sun, the more sun the better.
