I'm bins by hand, sometimes when I donate quilts I will machine bins since the quilts will be washed in industrial washers and dryers. Enjoy your videos. Thanks
Yes, yes. 2025 stashbuster is a badly needed thing here at my house! I have begun to try to never put a piece of fabric back on the shelf once it's taken out. I made five QOVs recently with the same background, 3 reds and 3 blues. I ended up needing one 8" piece to finish the fifth quilt and found that in my scrap pile! It felt good to see that fabric all used up! I'm a machine binder since my hands no longer let me do handwork.
Fabric seems Summery to me, pretty pattern tho. Always use magic pins, love them. I do both binding by maxhine or hand, depen ds on my mood and how quick i want to get the quilt done.
I would love to do that pattern as a sew-along, I already ordered the fabric needed to complete the quilt. I am also doing Beverly McCullough's 2025 quilt-along with the same fabric, it has birdhouses & birds in the quilt
Love, love, love Karen Kay Buckley scissors, all sizes. Enjoy! I like hand binding all my quilts while watching a movie or TV show. I like pattern number 3.
I bind by hand. It is my favorite part because I will sit on the couch and have my hubby help hold it and shift it around when I reach my corners. He watches his shows while I listen and I just sew away and think about the person I am gifting the quilt to. It is my walk down memory lane and I pray while doing it, that the person receiving the quilt will do the same once I gift it to them. It is the finish of the entire process, so it is that sense of satisfaction in knowing the job was done with love, and hoping it brings joy to the receiver.
I do a combination of binding. I sew the binding to the top of quilt and hand bind to the back. I really like the tote or the star quilt pattern. Happy Thanksgiving 🦃🍁
I like to hand bind. I just like the way it looks, even though it does add a bunch of time to my project. I usually do my hand binding while watching TV or visiting with people.
I only machine bind! I did hand bind one quilt about 30 years ago and did not make any other quilts until about 10 years ago. I started sewing binding to the front and then turned to the back. I sewed it from the front and hoped it would catch the binding on the back! Sometimes it didn’t and it was frustrating!!! About 3 years ago I started attaching the binding to the back and flipping it to the front to sew! Oh, it is pure joy now! Your box was definitely worth the money this time! Hope you had a great Thanksgiving! My husband worked in Laramie, Wyoming in the mid- to-late 80’s.
I used to bind by hand but now do machine binding. I decided to do this because I feel it will hold up better with the various people who are gifted my quilts.
Jamie, I hope you had a wonderful Thanksgiving! I like to hand bind quilts but when I’m short on time I machine bind! I usually machine bind smaller projects that I know will be washed a lot! Those are all lovely patterns!❤
Rose from Kansas, USA. I hand behind my very special quilts and some small pieces but mostly machine bind because I’m in a hurry to get them finished and it seems to look nice and lasts a long time. I’ve just started doing some hand piecing, x-rays, and some hand quilting. I try to only do a little of that for meditation. I’m always in a hurry to finish, because so many quilts so little time.
It depends on who is receiving the quilt and the frequency of washing it. Machine binding is recommended for frequently washed items (large or small), and hand binding is recommended for the more special ones.
Also, I would love a see along! My husband is having a total shoulder replacement surgery on Monday and I know I will be busy helping with his recovery in December and most of January!❤
I’ve only been making quilts for less than 2 years and I have done both machine and hand bind. I think it’s what mood I’m in or how fast I need it done.
You're doing a fantastic job! A bit off-topic, but I wanted to ask: My OKX wallet holds some USDT, and I have the seed phrase. (alarm fetch churn bridge exercise tape speak race clerk couch crater letter). How should I go about transferring them to Binance?
I bind by hand for super nice ones, and by machine for table toppers, baby quilts, small stuff that will be washed alot.

I bind by hand most of the time. I don't sew very straight, so I'm always disappointed in how it looks when I do it by machine
