On a night time fishing mission, Maike, his friend Steven and 7 year old son Julian discovered their vessel was taking on water. The vessel capsized and the group were offshore with no other option but to tread water for hours. Battling exhaustion and hypothermia, their mayday call was answered and they were rescued, all making full recoveries.
The Mooloolaba Coast Guard service has been bringing boaters home safely since it was established in 1976 and chose Simrad Yachting as an electronics partner for their Flagship vessel, Mooloolaba Rotary Rescue. Let us know if you have any questions or comments!
