David Hasselhoff is so beloved in Germany because he sang a song about freedom, on top of the Berlin Wall while it was being torn down. He was wearing a leather light up jacket with a keyboard key scarf while doing it as well. The man is legend.

10:00 "I hope [The Hoff] knows this is cheese."
Man, I just came from another video where Vevo interviewed him about his contributions to Kung Fury and his True Survivor MV. Part of his experience, he said, was that he was surprised that the movie was so well-done and yet it was made in the guy's garage. As in Hasselhoff was there for parts of the movie being made and he was impressed at what could be done now from just a bunch of friends using what was available. I think he really likes it, the way he described it. So he knows a lot of it is over the top and cheesy for good measure.

I don’t know if I commented this already but you were mentioning how the 80s were like heavy metal and oddly enough The Hoff went viral for singing a heavy metal song collaborating with a heavy metal band called Cue Stack. I think even Joe Rohan Show picked up on it. You should do a reaction to it ❤️

Oh shit I've tried to forget the Flash Gordon movie.
    I was a kid.
At one point I complemented the "sound" of the band performing the theme song.
A family member went bloody annouyed at me for using a Foreign Word.
Which I thought was a bit too far.
A decade later I was in the school. In a music class.
The teacher was eager to describe the notion of the "sound", also technically known as the "timbre".
Let it simmer in me for decades. Didn't even realise it. Just keep on going.
Now this family member is dead.
    Sigh.
How did it come to this.

One movie i love is MANDY of Panos Cosmatos, son of George Cosmatos (yeah, the director of Rambo and Cobra) he take the colors and the style of a 80s movie and create a homage to Metal music, some cosmic strange plot with extreme violence and a perfect Nicolas Cage with a very dark and beautiful direction and story. The movie was a love letter to his dead father and was a hell of a ride. I love that movie so much.

The thing why the 80s was over the top was because Sylvester Stallone made that film "Over the Top" in the 80s and what Sylvester Stallone said these days was law xD
Serious... I was a teenager back then and when you was in "it" it doesn´t felt so over the top as it was.
To us (or at least me and my parents) in Germany one of the things that was truely and every time over the top were action series from the US.
Every car that made a little crash did explode immidiatly.
There was a movie "Shhh Top Secret" from 1984 were that was shown very well (very good funny movie).
If you don´t know it and like to laugh then watch it ;)
Other funny movie from the early 90s was "Hot Shots" and "Hot Shots Part Deux". Both parody movies. First about "Top Gun" and the second a parody to "Rambo".
Both over the top movies from the eighties.
"The Hoff" well... I never was a big fan of him. But I didn´t dislike him either. He was there, i knew him from some of his tv shows and that´s it.
He was the guy with the cool car in "Knight Rider" and with the hot chicks in "Baywatch". In both cases I was more interested in the things that wasn´t Hoff ;)
As a teenager i loved the car "KITT"... last year I watched an old episode of "Knight Rider" and didn´t understand what I liked about that car or the series.
    Times change.
Anyway interesting channel and because I´m no more in the twenties I´m not so familiar with that like and subscribe and that bell thing
so I decided to activate them all and wait what happens next :)
(that was irony that I don´t know what happens)

LOL, best comment on my channel to date! Seems like you definitely get it and I could not agree more! Hell yea, I've seen Top Secret! In fact, I think that was one of Val Kilmer's first roles. I loved all of those movies starting with Airplane!, Top Gun, hot shots, etc. Classics!!! I had a similar experience when I saw He-Man was on netflix. That was, by far, my favorite show as a kid. So I started watching it with my kids and thought, "what the holy hell is this!?" Anyways, thanks for supporting my channel. I think I've seen you comment on almost every video I've done. Almost to 1k! I'm racking my brain thinking of what to do. Part of me wants to live stream this movie. The other part, maybe Wacken 2013 live stream? thoughts?

    • @Vagabound
      @Vagabound 3 роки тому

@@HistoryBuff If it's Wacken or movie then to me it's definetly Wacken 🤘
But maybe there will be a "time conflict" because of different time zones ;)
And funny but true .... I have family.
So I'm one of the best youtube watching people when it comes to "missing a live stream" 😂
What I try to say is: Do whatever you like ;)
Oh and I only made a comment under the "Sabaton - Bismarck" video so far I guess.... maybe under a Nightwish video too. But I don't think that these are all of your videos ;)
