They’re told to do this because girls typically don’t know much about cars and it usually works, they do it with guys as well but it’s not as successful. It’s easier to get an oil change at your dealership or do it yourself than a mechanic, a lot are trained by their bosses to try scamming as much money from you as possible.

I know many mechanics. They have set prices for their work. If it takes a short time the mechanic gets more per hour but if it takes longer the mechanic gets less. They’re told to do this because girls typically don’t know much about cars and it usually works, they do it with guys as well but it’s not as successful. It’s easier to get an oil change at your dealership or do it yourself than a mechanic, a lot are trained by their bosses to try scamming as much money from you as possible.

The pink tax is easily solved by buying men's care products. The reason that it even exists is because women are more susceptible to marketing and more willing to pay more for a product that is well marketed. As for oil changes, just learn basic terminology and tell them that you "only want my oil and oil filter changed"

You are right but actually razor has been debunked and indeed womens razor is more expensive IF it has more razor plates cos the area women usually uses the razor for is bigger. OR companies put gel on razors, design the handle with rubber and plastic...what also adds cost.

Oil changes are more expensive as a girl? I literally get my oil changes $10 cheaper because I’m a woman.
A lot of mechanics are tiod by their higher ups to scam more money out of women, as its believed they won't know they're being scammed.
I know many mechanics. They have set prices for their work. If it takes a short time the mechanic gets more per hour but if it takes longer the mechanic gets less. This fantasy that women are paying more for work on cars is probably brought on by a complete lack of knowledge of automobile maintenance costs and parts combined with a need to play the victim and triggering mens desire to be their hero.

I think that can actually go both ways as well lol. If I buy some absolutely terrible boxers that’ll cost $15 and they’ll last 2 weeks between washes before they rip/tear. But of course I know that a woman walking alone at night is a huge risk. However I never truly realized how I go take a walk at night alone every week and never realize that’s a privilege. I now live in a big city so the risk is even bigger of something happening. Still I don’t feel any sense of danger when out at night alone. Hope that makes sense
