Grey Wolf it sound more like a guy who kinda retales who he got bitten by a werewolf, masqueraiding as a normal person and as a result he fears he'll lose himself and he ask his lover to be with him and give him hope at his final hours of sanity before night comes and the full moon shows up
its all left up to interpretation, you decide whether it is a song about an actual werewolf pleading to a loved-one to pull him out of madness or a religious man struggling to do the right thing and seeking God's guidance. i personally prefer the first one since it gives the song a certain fantasy feel...
i loved adam but the newer songs are shit. and when i say newer songs i mean from the midsummer station to now basically. thats the era that everything went wrong in. sky sailing was bomb. the old owl city albums were too. now what is this mainstreamy electronic-pop crap with shallow lyrics and stuff. this isnt the deep dreamy adam that defined him against a crowd of bad music. it hasnt gotten too bad yet but its not very fixable
Okay so I DO agree with you that his older songs are priceless but his newer songs aren't shallow, they just are the typical, overheard cliché songs. His older songs had stories to tell, dreams to paint, they were truly magical. His newer songs are just what people will eat up and throw out over a month. You can tell he was paid to do it, but you can't blame him, those songs were probably easy to write (or that me being assumptive) and he got A LOT of money. Especially ones like Good Time when he paired up with Carly Rae Jepson
