We missed you! It’s good that you’re honest with yourself (for the good and the bad). Take your time and follow your intuition! Best of luck! We’ll always be here! /hrh voice RAT!!!
I was so happy to see your video appear today and it was great to hear what you're up to. I believe that things will work out for you...believe in yourself, believe in your skills, believe in the art that you give to the world 😊
Jana! It's so exciting to see your progression as an artist! It's super hard sometimes to be aware of how things will turn out in a years time, but I'd really continue with freelance as the amount of work you are getting already shows you are in demand and your work is incredibly professional. As someone who has been working in illustration (as an agent and artist) it goes up and down and this year is a tricky one - not as many commissions and budgets are being restricted due to elections and issues worldwide. I lecture part-time and absolutely love it - so graphic design would be a fab part-time job but I'd also look into teaching online if you enjoy talking about illustration, it's often part-time (english speaking) and you can do it from anywhere! Good Luck xxx
Hi Connie! Means a lot to hear this from you! Thank you for all the ideas, I will look into them. I definitely do not want to quit pursuing illustration, just really want to have something more secure set up as well. Right now I am drawing so much, I have to push all those graphic design plans and personal projects for a month or so:) but its a good sign for illu work coming in! We’ll see what happens, learning and trying new things can only help. Thanks and best wishes from Berlin 🌻
So happy to catch up with you once more. Your progression is quite amazing, you are super talented. Totally understand your focus on your life. If you look back at all that you have achieved, quite clearly your are transgressing and taking up new challenges, it’s been great to share your artistic journey. Wish you well in all that you do. Look forward to your next posting.
Thank you Jana, you inspire me to keep working on my own projects. Fun and educational to follow your progress. Best of luck to you! ❤🌻🫖☕🍁🍂wish you a cozy autumn.

Always so nice to see and hear an update on your progress as an illustrator. I can tell you're anxious to have a steady source of business you can rely on. Sounds like you're getting there and hope that opportunity comes soon! With each commission, large or small, your work is getting more exposure with potential future clients. I had never heard of a "Zine" before. They're pretty neat little booklets to show your illustration talents. Everything you draw always looks so cute - people, animals, insects, and even a TV Tower! Looking forward to your next update.
Thank you so much! Yes, zines are those little art booklets, often done very DIY... its so nice to be able to put work together in a mini book just by yourself :)
Wonderful to see this video! It’s fascinating to see all of the different ways in which you illustrate - in the different magazines, children’s books, live events, travel images, art prints and zines. These different types of illustration work are so valuable no matter what specific amount of money is earned from each one. Full-time or mini-time, it is always great to see the art that you are designing and making. Looking forward to the Japan zine and future videos!
Love seeing what you have been working on! It's super hard to acknowledge ones own success, especially when doing freelance work. But I think you have come very far. I think learning graphic design and applying for a full time job is a great idea, as you get to expand your portfolio and skills. Also you get to connect with many creatives and might get offered some cool Illustration jobs through contacts. I'm currently studying Design in Berlin and work part time at an Agency. If you ever have questions about any Adobe stuff, graphic design or anything else please don't hesitate asking. Greetings from Kreuzberg :)
Thanks so much! This means a lot! I am excited for learning new skills, building a portfolio and hopefully get a real adult job:) I get so caught up in my ways and forget its ok to try new things. So good that you are studying and working at an agency already! I’ll most likely write you once I have something in my portfolio for an opinion:) Thank you and greetings back from Prenzlauerberg!
