    Chris, you remind me of my early days in hot shot trucking. I worked the oil field business as a hotshot in the 1970's. Midland, Odessa, Monahans, Ft Stockton. I worn out 3 trucks and 4 gooseneck trailers. Then moved on to Semi Trucks OTR. Retired in 2015. But still get the itch to comeback. Watching your rig made me think about going the same route. I like your set up.
    Look forward to seeing you back on the road.

    I made the same decision. I just sold my 379 and step deck. Load counts and rates are dropping considerably but equipment prices are still inflated, I expect that to fall in the near future and can buy something way cheaper if I decide to. I have 26 years in offshore oilfield production so that’s an option if needed. I’m pretty sure a recession is upon us, historically there is always a recession after a large oil price increase especially when this much inflation is involved. I believe we both made the right decision. I hope everyone can laugh at me and call me crazy for thinking this way and everything stays positive, I would much rather that happen than the alternative. Will continue to follow your channel due to your personality/character, it doesn’t matter much what the content is. I’ve finally figured out the secret to life and it is simple, slow down, spend as much time with family and friends as you can, stop and enjoy the little things.

    • @DosGringosRanch

      I couldn’t agree more. A week in and I’m already ready to throw in the towel here. Lol just missing the road but I’m going to make this work for a while, the money is about 4x as good as it was running O/O and could be completely debt free “including the new house I just built” in just over a year. So I’ll make myself make it work. 😂

    • @kenchatham5939

      @@DosGringosRanch get it done quick and then get to what you like. Just don’t keep adding because we never think what we have is enough, it’s just built into all of us. When you finally realize you’ve been to the places, bought the things, got the kids grown, and settled in, you reach a peace and it just hits you, I don’t really want anything else or the work/time it takes to get and maintain it lol. Just 2 cents from someone a little older and has been there too.

    • @DosGringosRanch
      @DosGringosRanch  2 роки тому +1

      @@kenchatham5939 I agree. I did that in 07-08 with the bass boat, ski boat, 4wheelers, rock crawler and new vehicles learned my lesson real quick. Lol. Every since then I’ve always tried to keep home bills low and kept a 6 figure savings account until I bought the ranch and used up quite a bit of that to pay cash for the ranch and then the water well, electric and septic then the 35% down payment on the house so now I need to get the savings built back up. Like I said in the video all I want to do is get a couple goals I have taken care of then it’s back to the truck.

    I think your truck would be perfect for adding a hyliion electric drive axle. That hybrid system is also an electric Apu. From what I've seen on the internet those hybrid drives are about 9 to 14k depending on options you want and they can be installed in less than a week. I think there are govt subsidies and rebates for them.
