I personally head canon that the boss is using the Smiling Friends charity as a money laundering front. Glep doesn’t seem like he has a job at the charity because he doesn’t actually work there. He is just in on the money laundering.
The fact Glip is almost 17 centuries old and the only ambitions he has is to make people smile already makes him a better and more humble person than most creatures in fiction that live that long. Also Gott is German for God, so Gilbert Gottfried did actually have God in his name.
I think Glep being so old and having seen so many tragedies has lead him to getting involved in the smiling friends company, to be able to bring happiness to the world
It’s possible Glep only learned English between the time of the show and his reading of the story to his grandchild. Also it’s interesting that despite his long life he is apparently near the end of it as he ages into an old critter just like the rest of them, although perhaps he is like the immortal jellyfish that basically revert to babies at the end of their life.

I’m pretty sure Glep is just the janitor, since he cleans up bliblie corpses at the end of the pilot and we don’t see him do much else. The Smiling Friends hq doesn’t seem like it needs much cleaning, so we don’t see him doing his job all that often
When we see Glep retelling the story of Charlie going to hell you can see a picture above the fireplace with him in office as president with Marge as his first lady.
Since glep's gender is green, wouldn't that make the other characters genders be yellow purple and red? As they are all the same species being known as critters.

I was totally wondering about the Earth shape canon because of the S1 finale! I think you solved it pretty well, like of course that whole episode was just a story and nobody knew.
I know the joke is that he doesn’t do that much, but I wish that we got to see more of the character dynamics with him like we did for Alan and the Boss this season

Since all the side characters were actors imagine if the shop owner that Allan bought the clips from was one of these people and told him the secret of the paperclip in order to make Allan click the reset button with the paperclip and he did his thing. Would explain why at the end he woke from death wanting nothing more than smoking weed filling our bellies with diet soda and playing burnout revenge on the ps2
I feel silly to say this publicly, but will anyway. 😹 What attracted me to Glep is his little wizard hat. If the guys had drawn him as just a lil goblin with a big nose, I wouldn't really care. A well designed accessory is always a good way to show the audience some of the character's personality. Glep is 1 of my favorite types of characters, they don't speak often but are very aware of what's going on & might even know more than everyone else.
Glep also knows the earth is flat. The bookreading takes place after his presidency in which he wouldve learned about such secrets. He chooses to not tell.
Glep was born when the Roman Empire was split between East and West, I bet when he was 81 in 476 he helped the Goths enter Rome and cause the Fall of the Western Roman Empire
I feel like Charlie told Pim, Allan, Glep and the Boss the journey about hell later in his life, so Glep may have heard about Charlie's grandmother also being in hell because she said damn and that it was frozen over. It may be more exaggerated though since it's Glep perspective of the story. Also that's why we see that the Earth is round when God revives Charlie, it's cause Glep thinks the Earth is round when he told the story. (oh I didn't know you mentioned it in the video lmao)
