Love the idea of a vintage part of town in a lego city

The 8x24 baseplate in this set only came in light gray in one other set in 1982, which was a Post office (6362). However this dimension of baseplate first appeared in 1975 (before articulated minifigures) in Mata green as part of a "Harbor Scene" (364). It would appear in this color in 13 sets over the following years, last appearing in a Pirates set (6266) from 1993 before it was phased out all together.

Interristing that the supposed diagnostic room with the bed has window blinds for discretion, but the office window has none. Even in detail well designed!

    great vintage set!
About stickers: what do you think about "repro stickers"? There is a dutch seller on ebay who have almost all stickers from vintage sets from our childhood and are very cheap (5-7 bucks)... they seems very accurate but i never buy them...

I personally would never buy that! the colors are never 100 procent correct and you do not have the right age, which also does not give the look and feel of the stickers the right appearance. If you really want the stickers you can buy them, but if you wait patiently you will find the right stickers on your path one day. I was able to buy this sheet for 20 euros and I think it is a very reasonable price, it is an absolute added value and if you don't spend crazy amounts of money then you should always go for the real thing. It is of course also an option to buy the bricks with stickers on them, which is often a lot cheaper and also a good solution, but under no circumstances a reproduction for me 🙂

I heard you say you were looking to try to clean some of the bricks that are discolored, are you planning on replacing the current/missing stickers with the sheet you bought or just keep the sheet fully intact?

No, i want to keep the stickersheet like it is. I am planning to buy the bricks with the stickers on it by a seller who has also some other stuff that I can use.

i recently bought ambulance 6688. this old medical sets look better than new city series. It is nice compliment to me fire fighter sets from era. do you know why so many instructions from that era have holes in them done be previous owners?

I also prefer the older sets! This is because I also grew up in the 80s and played with these sets that I show here on my channel.
I never understood why some people perforated manuals. Perhaps to keep them all together in a large folder. I always think it's a pity when I find a nice set with box, but unfortunately a manual with puncholes.

@@henrysvintagetoys im a bit younger 2000s, but since legos dont get bad i used to play with 80s and 90s sets as a kid. i personally dont care much for boxes (each for their own on that field) but paper manual is a must. especiali considering that lego online manual archive dosent have most of manuals older than 2007. tne newest sets end up too futuristic to fully put in perspective of a city. Those older sets were designed after looking at things designers seen day to day now we get sets that loook like what they hope to see in 10 to 15 years from now.
