OMG. The KGTV open is just pure bliss for me. That just gives me goosebumps when i hear the music, see the gfx because i would run from anywhere in my house just to sit down and watch the news.
Charlie Van Dyke: “KGTV San Diego. Now at 11:00. Kimberly Hunt, Carol LeBeau, Captain Mike’s weather, Larry Sacknoff on sports, tonight’s perspective. The team that stands for San Diego. This is 10NEWS Nightcast.”
That WLEX morning one has the sun coming up similarly to the old "Sunday Morning" opening w/Charles Kuralt, only this one is orange and expands to fill the screen. I also like the V/O on that WSPA one: "This is Eyewitness News Nightwatch...with Allen Denton, Amy Marsh, Accu-Weather with Jack Roper, Pete Yanity with sports, and the Eyewitness News team."
WTVQ ABC 36 owned by Morris multimedia/WLEX NBC 18 owned by Scripps broadcasting/WKYT CBS 27 owned by gray media group/WDKY FOX 56 owned by Sinclair Broadcast Group
That KYW Philly "EWN" opening must be from early '86, as the "Evening Magazine" promo tagged to it has 3's ID w/NBC's "Proud N" on it; NBC would not shed those extra feathers until mid-year, IIRC (or was it late in the year?). Also, speaking of "EWN," digging that old WSPA opening when it was still like that (also noticed that it had Amy Wood before she was Amy Wood; she was Amy Marsh then).
4:40 - WREG-TV MEMPHIS
4:21 - WHBQ-TV Memphis (formerly ABC affiliate, now FOX affiliate).
At 6:32 my local news in San Diego from back in the day. :-)
Is that the same Dione Willis that worked on WRTV 6?

You, my friend, are a winner.
funny how some NBC affiliates would use the NBC News theme, for their background music.
"The Mission" composed by John Williams was (and is still) the NBC News theme.
@bmasters1981 The WSPA music sounds likes it goes to their slogan at the time... listen closely for "in the center of it all"
Allen Denton is famous

@ntropolis Yes, indeed! I forgot to mention that! You are absolutely right. :)

Great with the WOLO open. I've never seen any old stuff from that station.
Good job! I like how there were very little repeats (except for that one from WLEX). Well done. :)
Sounds ALMOST like the Gari One for All package in terms of musical signature. But the timbre of the package doesn't strike me as Gari.
The KCNC First News open is not from a morning newscast. It's from a 4PM newscast.
There are some notable voiceovers in these local news intros: Charles Van Dyke, Ernie Anderson , Mike Lewis and Danny Dark.
That first one sounds just like the current theme for WCCO Minneapolis..
thank you for uploading this.. means a good bit
Good job, Nate!
