Pressure Assist Toilet

- A pressure assist toilet has a pressure vessel inside the tank. It draws in air and uses the pressure from your home's water supply to create a powerful flush.
They range from 1.6 to 1 gpf. Most have larger trap sizes to move waste further down the main and reduce the chance of clogs.

Why am I here you ask? I was in a public washroom the other day and the toilet was so efficient I actually took the lid off the tank to see what was in there and there was one of these power assist things and I was amazed and delighted, now I want one.
Ha, I always take off the lid of the toilet in hotels to see what style flush valve and fill valve they use.

They just installed these in my work office. I looked too!
@@FIXITHomeImprovementChannel I do the same. I was never more impressed than with one of these in a hotel. If it can take the commercial abuse daily, I think i'll try one
did you get one??
same reason! I saw one on the train😂
You need this if you have massive dumps. Glacier bay has a cheap one at about $150 at depot
I bought two similar models but by Gerber® in the early 2000s, because I wanted that same flushing power that are in office and hotel lavatories. American Standard makes a version, but it doesn't have the same SLOAN Flushmate® vessel as the one that was in your demonstration.
Very strong flush ,great .
May the force be with you!
may the flush be with you
I have three!! They work great!
For residential use? What brand, model did you settle on?
...I need one of these in my life.
Are these type of pressure assisted toilets adjustable?
Does it splash
This is the second one for the basement bat. ua-cam.com/users/postUgkxOuLt8IL_GxhhaK8DBuKEL-zV0UJVpWZn , works great
Thank you! ^^
Was there any issues with how long it takes to fill
I heard something like this is recommended if the toilet is not vented, is that true ?
My situation is that the previous homeowner did not properly vent the 2nd floor bathroom addition. This was not documented by the home inspector during the buying process. I never really used the bathroom until now that I've decided to make a hangout spot upstairs for guests since there's one large room upstairs. Well now that the bathroom is being put to use I noticed that it takes more than 1 flush to get rid of the waste. When a plumber came out he said my issue was that there is no vent so that's what causes the slow drain , gargling and multiple flushes. He of course went for the jugular and said i needed to take down drywall and then cut through the roof. . .in the end i was looking at $3800 plus tax. I decided to seek other opinions / alternatives when a friend of mine said he had of someone with a similar issue and they got one of these toilets. He said that this put an end to the problem with toilet and then the person added a cheater valve to help with sink. Of course i never saw it with own eyes so that's why im here to get your opinion on it.
Careful it don't explode!
What model and make is this?
Also do you have any issues with it?
Will plunging a clog damage these toilets? I love mine, but actually do have a clog.
Hi, a plunger won't do any damage. A Korky Beehive plunger works with all types of toilets.

@@FIXITHomeImprovementChannel Thanks for that! I tried the soap and very warm water approach and it worked with plunging and flush! Yay!
I used to have one. I missed that thing, I call it a turbo toilet because they are nearly impossible to clog if used in a residential setting. A step above that would be a flushometer toilet, unfortunately they require a significant plumbing for them to work as in you need 4 inch drain pipe and a 1-1/4 inch water supply pipe.
I have a power flush and for over a year the water in the bowl is low any ideas how to fix it? Ty
Any tips on cleaning these? I have slime buildup in my bowl and suspect that bacteria is in the tank but I don't want to mess with the inner workings.
Hi, the water goes directly into the pressure tank, so you can't clean the inside of the tank. I would contact the manufacturer and see what they recommend.

OMFG CRANE GOT INTO THE TREND?
NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO
Can the pressure hurt the person who’s doing the job?
Hi, I've never heard of any problems. It uses the pressure from your homes water system.
Ok thank you
Can you use a bleach tablet that you normally drop in the tank?
Can the pressure hurt you?
Don’t sit on it when your flushing
was that a crane econimiser
I forget the model. I should have made a note, happened to be a hotel and had a question about pressure assist toilets.
@@FIXITHomeImprovementChannel looks like a Mansfield quantum but i saw the crane logo
It is a Crane Economizer
@@OCC_Plumbing_and_Restorations oh ok
I seem to get clogged toilets real easy!! I know I can go to a 4 inch toilet flush or I could go with this or I can include this with a new 4 inch toilet!! How do this work? Do they need compressed air added to it, to make it power flush? How does it get the power assist function?
Hi, a pressure assist toilet has a pressure tank that uses the water pressure from your home and air to create a flushing action.
If you are looking for the best flushing toilet compare the MaP scores. This is the flushing ability of the toilet. A MaP score of 350 is required for a Water Sense toilet. Toilets that are 600 or more are the best flushing. You can check out a list at www.map-testing.com/consumer-household-toilets/.

FIX IT Home Improvement Channel So do you buy the pressure assist separately or can you buy the pressure assist toilet all in one? I know, that there's that American Standard toilet, that could flush golf balls? The flush assist toilet, is like having a commercial toilet!!
@@buffydog21 don't do it 😬
@@buffydog21 the pa toilets have a bad bowl rinse
In theory these are good but if it's not flushing down then you either don't have enough water coming from the tank to push it all down or you have too much solids in the bowl.
If you force down whatever is in the bowl with pressure, are you not just pushing the problem down further?? Then you have to hire someone to come snake the line. Plumbing systems aren't designed to handle large solids, so if it's not going down, then you either have a partial blockage to begin with or you don't have enough water with your flush.
Try holding the button or lever down longer if your 💩 isn't going down 🙂
These flush mates are cool, but can be deceiving.
keep in mind that the size of the pipe once it leaves the toilet with that SMALL opening is much larger.
The “plumbing system” isn’t designed to handle large solids? Most drains that exit the closet bend from the toilet flange are 3”-4” which is plenty. The issue most people have with their toilets clogging up is usually in the trap within the actual toilet itself. What he’s saying how the pressure assist works is literally the pressure from the water service line assisting the flush which fully pushes the waste into the drain.
Crane Economiser.
I hate this toilet, ours never even flushes toilet paper and we've doneall the supposedly tricks and maintenance
