I enjoyed the movie. I liked Josh Hartnett and his great performance. Thrills and excitement throughout the movie. The story and script was good enough for me. The daughter was great too. I didn't like that M. Night's daughter was in the movie longer than she needed to be. Some scenes dragged so badly it hurts the pacing of it.
I have talked to people who enjoyed this film and your points ring true. Hartnett sells it to the audience, even when I found M. Night’s material lacking. I know it’s a film and you have to suspend your disbelief, but I found the extreme conveniences of the situations Cooper found himself in laughably absurd. It’s almost a parody or comedy that it hurts all aspects of the film being labeled a suspense or mystery. The film comes off as odd and maybe in a good way, I guess it depends how you see it. I do agree on your points too with the third act, even though a scene I found most compelling is in one of the 3 conclusions this film has. Who knows, I might find enjoyment in a rewatch. Thanks for your comment 🙏🏽
@@manncinemareviews I can see your point too. Unfortunately, the previews gives it away and that's sad. I get it about suspend your disbelief. I just wanted to be entertained and I got that for the most part. You're welcome.
