- This Mercedes Cabin Filter change process eliminates the glovebox removal process. It’s a shortcut you can try on any Mercedes with an easy to remove under hood airbox. In my opinion, it reduces the chance of breaking trim clips, loosing track of specific screw types and lengths. Let alone, makes it a quicker process. I’ll definitely change my filters more often now that I can do it this way.
I must say, proceed at your own risk, Yes you can beat up your hands doing it this way. But, to me it’s worth it. Plus I have 2-3 XL mitts and got through it relatively unscathed.
I see the interior behind the glovebox cabin filter access door is a Daimler-Chrysler-Jeep holdover design. In the jeeps I’ve owned, the inside job is easy! Squeeze the sides of the glovebox and the door swings down, then you have access to the filters. Not so on the W251 and more Benzes.
I had no idea about the service lift button!!!! Thank you!
Thanks! Worked great on my R350!
Very good video. I recently bought an 2009 R350. I saw other videos showing the dash disassembly to replace these filter. Very glad I saw you video before is tackled this job.
You sir just made my day. Thanks for saving me LOTS of hassle!
@@danieoosthuysen4395 You are welcome!!! I just bought a 2nd r-class. An 06’ r500. Yeah, it’s a mental defect, I like these goofy MPVs. They look like an alien, drive like an S-class.
Thank you so Much for the tip ❤
Just replaced the filters in oh, 5 minutes. Thanks for saving me a bunch of time
I have a 2008 and I just changed them in under 20 minutes 😀 I scraped up my knuckles a little, but when don’t you, I have big hands…so anyone should be able to do it. Thank you 😊
Fantastic! Thanks for putting this video together and sharing it with us.
