Rainn Wilson is so underrated. He made this character, who is essentially unlikeable, and sort of.. forced you to love (well, maybe just like) him. Like it or not, by the end, you can't help but identify with him on some level. Sure he's aweful, but he's the realest person in the office. Dwight is a what you see is what you get guy. Grudgingly respect him for sticking to his wierd moral code.
Jin the banana from the left We aren’t talking about him as a real person, we are talking about a *character* on a TV show. If he was real, of course we’d all hate him. That’s the only reason some people can manage to actually like Michael Scott.
Dwight Schrute deserves his own show. What a great character he turned out to be in The Office !!!and to think that Seth Rogen had auditioned for the role. He would've been disastrous.
The Sun I don't know, I think it's best that they didn't. Dwight as a character works well because he and the other characters serve as foils for one another. Either Dwight messes with them or they mess with Dwight. An entire show with "Dwight-like" characters all interacting with each other would get real old real quick.
“When I’m promoted, you’ll be full fired.” “If you get promoted and if you haven’t fallen in love with me by then.” Love these lines because it almost seems like the last episode is a call back to this. Dwight becomes manager, then becomes best friends with Jim or “falling in love” with him if you will.

he does whats best for the company...what happens in the end is he realizes he can also care about the people he works with and that he did not get here without them and by doing both he gets fullfilment as manager he never got before cause he was aiming just for power hoping people would fall in line not cause they like him....he always had something to aim for which he needs..without that whats the point?...basically he would hate another schrute if his assistant was a clone of himself....he did it for others...and thats his arc...he thought he could be this unsocial old mentality try hard with no people skills and have everyone adapt to him but he had to adapt which is tough...i love how comfortable he is in the end cause he earned it..they really humanized him in many ways and made him always care for the company ..he was rarely malicious
Even when dwight had a chance to give himself the position of Assistant Regional manager, in the game 2nd Life he was still was assistant to the regional manager. Dwight is one of a kind indeed

Once he has a goal, he will stick to it until he is successful!
Yes, but with a leash. He has the potential to drive other employees away lol
he does whats best for the company...what happens in the end is he realizes he can also care about the people he works with and that he did not get here without them and by doing both he gets fullfilment as manager he never got before cause he was aiming just for power hoping people would fall in line not cause they like him....he always had something to aim for which he needs..without that whats the point?...basically he would hate another schrute if his assistant was a clone of himself....he did it for others...and thats his arc...he thought he could be this unsocial old mentality try hard with no people skills and have everyone adapt to him but he had to adapt which is tough...i love how comfortable he is in the end cause he earned it..they really humanized him in many ways and made him always care for the company ..he was rarely malicious
Either that or he shoots his gun to the floor
I need a Ron Swanson and Dwight Shrute spinoff

Even when dwight had a chance to give himself the position of Assistant Regional manager, in the game 2nd Life he was still was assistant to the regional manager. Dwight is one of a kind indeed
Greatest. Character. Ever.

Cody Maley bears eat beets. Bears. Beets. Battlestar galactica.
Why thank you!
4:40 I love Dwight's expression when he issues Jim the demerit
“IF you get promoted. And IF you haven’t fallen in love with me by then.”
That cut off at 6:31 makes it amazing
“If you haven’t fallen in love with me by then...”
“Wha-“
I can’t get enough of Michael and Dwight correcting one another for ‘assistant to’ to ‘assistant’
