Is it just me, or do the 80's still seem very modern even by today's standards?
It's not just you, many 80's american cars were way ahead of their time.
They were spectacular. Cars now all boring Grey interior. Don't get anymore sad than that. They were classy back in the eighty's
@@terryrideout7457 not just that try getting a modern car that talks to you and u cant. its all buzzers and lights which is fine but itd be great to know whats wrong without looking at a dash with a million lights for an hour to figure it out.
if youre looking at your instrument panel for an hour and still cant fig it out, then ya know what? THE PROBLEM IS NOT THE INSTRUMENT PANEL @@LibbyMia-rz8gk
Better seats then i have in my livingroom. The owner took very good care of this car.
I wish they still made seats like this in today's cars, along with the extra space inside
I can almost feel how comfy those seats are just by looking at them.
Anytime I watch a video of a Chrysler New Yorker- regardless of the model year- I begin to hear the song "Native New Yorker" by Odyssey.
Trust me, they were damn comfy, but on hot days... that's a different story.
That interior is down right nasty! I can hear my uncles now. ”Hoooooooooooo wee! Lawd have mercy young buck!”
@@auaiao9 no man, I'm talking from experience, because of the leather, hot days were damn annoying. I'm from Mexico though, when it gets hot it really gets hot.
This car is immaculate. Very rare to see one in this amazing shape after all these years. The original owner must have really loved this car. Thank you for making this video.
Kenneth thanks Kenneth!! He did love this car very much! I love it and will do right by the car too!
@@drosa6503 3 years later i had to come back to this video to watch it again. It's the nicest E body video on all of UA-cam. It makes me so happy to know you are as committed to this car's integrity and originality as the first owner.
Beautiful interior, I miss the red interiors these old cars had.
They are making a come back. I know the Camry has red leather interiors now.
Keep her on the road. Everyone remembers the high performance sports cars of tbe early years but the every man's car models always fade into obscurity. Mad props for keeping her this clean.
SlickNicklol thank you!! I drive it at least once a week and it’s garaged and polished every day!
@@drosa6503 hey man wax dont polish everyday. Dont burn out the clear coat lol. But good to hear. I always loved survivor and original restorations more than resto mods. It's like a piece of history.
SlickNicklol I should’ve clarified that keep it polished and wiped down everyday. I only wax it a few months a year.
The paint scheme on this car is my absolute favorite. Black and red. I was about 11 years old when this car was brand new, and I remember being so fascinated with all of its electronic advancements. I wanted so badly to be an adult so I could have a grownup car like this. Now I'm a grownup, and have my car with all the gadgets. I still think it would have been amazing to be an adult back in this era, because I think the cars in this day were SO special.
I owned a 1987 Chrysler New Yorker...These cars had sumptuous interiors...I haven't found any newer cars that have even come close to the Chrysler's comfort level....It was fairly quick with that turbo.
Someone took really good care of that car and that black exterior with the red interior looks perfect. Finding a car like that from the 80s and in mint condition and that many miles are very rare these days
Will Irl87 the person I bought it from definitely did take really great care of it! I baby my cars and I will keep this going for a lifetime to come!
suxha bleen it actually has 6 spots for the mileage and Carfax probe it too. You might want to double check about Chrysler odometers before you think it only has 5. Lol otherwise you think this car has 172,500 miles??!! 🤦🏽♂️
The interior is absolutely stunning. You sure don't see that kind of quality nowadays!
My grandpa had an 85. He put 224,000 miles on it.
He replaced it with a 1994 New Yorker. That one went 200,000 before his death.
Thanks for bringing back the memories.
Mark Nelson wow that’s awesome!!!! I don’t know if my car will ever see that kind of mileage! I’m glad I got to give you some great memories as this car does the same for me.
@ why, if you take car of a car it will last and last, I have a 77 fiat spider124 that I drove till 98 as daily driver with 148 ,000 miles, changed oil every 3000 miles and it still runs like new!!! original engine , tranny , new radiator, back up light bulb, heater control valve and alternator since I drove in 16 inches of water. Still passes CA Smog like new.

D Rosa ,Great job very informative video I just found this today. Bought my first Chrysler “New Yorker” yesterday. It’s beautiful a 1991 New Yorker with 63,000 original
miles bought it from the 2nd owner that had it since 1993.
Again thanks a lot and I’m looking forward to enjoying this car !!
My God those seats...
I want to live in those for the rest of my life, they look so comfortable
Wow! That car is in great condition! Beautiful
Those are some of greatest seats ever to be in a car! I had an '88 New Yorker and absolutely loved that car and it's cozy leather seats! My Cadillac Brougham d' Elegance has seats from heaven as well!
That interior is off the charts. 🙌🏻
nice thorough walk through. cars from the 80’s are finally getting appreciated.
That's gorgeous. I love k cars. I finally had to scrap my 1986 LeBaron in 2018. I was heartbroken.
Trav Smith thank you! I can’t imagine what that feels like!! I’m hoping I never get to that.
@@drosa6503 It was my first car when I got my license in 1993. It was a burgundy coupe with a vinyl landau top. I wanted to restore it so bad but the frame got to rusted out and couldn't be repaired. I took the front end off and kept it to hang in my garage as a memento. It was a sad sight seeing it put on that flatbed truck to the scrap yard.
Trav Smith that’s sad for sure! I owned an 83 New Yorker that had s cruddy engine issue. It was my first car in 94’ and I didn’t have money to keep it maintained. I traded it in for a new car a few years after I got it and regretted it.
I think this car has better features on it than my 2003 Hyundai did. And even with inflation, it cost less than many modern luxury vehicles.
Thanks man!! We do a great job keeping these Malaise vehicles alive!
This was Niko's car in gta iv
Roman, you wanna go bowling 😂
Nice ride man. How much does it cost if it's in a good condition like this one?
Damn, that's a proper office inside!
This car looks immaculate. Very nice to have a car this old in such amazing condition. Congrats!
All I can say is that this is one espectacular car 👍especially with that robotic voice talking to you about all of it’s functions that on which it was so Electronically advanced on it’s time.
My father had a 1980 New Yorker which he put 250.000 miles plus on the car. Thank you for sharing this beauty.
I've said it before, and I'll say it again; that's one BEAUTIFUL car!!!!!
Childhood memories! My folks had one just like it except it had a decorative spare wheel on the back. People stopped and stared and always complimented the car. It was truly top notch back then.
Amazingly beautiful condition. Nice to see it given such love!
You know what I miss? Opera lights! For those of you that don't know what those are, those are the white strips on the back roof pillars by the back door windows. They served no purpose but as a decoration only. They came in different styles depending on the type of car. I had a co-worker one time that had an 80s Mercury Cougar with opera lights in the shape of the cougar logo. They were neat. You only find them on limos now. I'd like to see them on regular vehicles again. Also I'd like to see opera windows again too. They were small separate windows for the back seat on 2 door cars. I had an '85 Monte Carlo and it had opera windows. Neat features that were forgotten about.
Damn never knew I could actually respect a Chrysler
@@TheSavage3.6 Scotty can keep his recommended Kias. Not that they're awful cars, but they are soulless appliances. You won't see anyone in 30 years crowing about a barn find of a Kia. (well, maybe if it's a Stinger)
What a room you have. Mini penthouse. American built cars are so elegant and yet masculine. What a beauty.
The interior is so beautiful and I like the individuals arm rest and seat controls in the front seats. That's nice
You need to send this video to Scotty Kilmer channel.
He does a “Show your car off” Sunday for his viewers. Check it out. And read his descriptions first.
Thanks for showing this car.
It’s beautiful!
Scotty Kilmer would probably refuse to feature the car as he absolutely loathes any car made by Chrysler even though this car is in mint condition.
What a beautiful car! It’s great to see one that has been loved and survived so well. Your very lucky to have it.
Alexander Sandy McInnes the Castle Guy thank you!! I totally agree! I feel very fortunate to have found it last year and get to own it!
First car that I bought when I was 16 years old. Brings back so much memories. Thanks for sharing!
A A ME TOO!!! This is why I bought this car! It brings back so many great memories for me!
I had a friend that had one of these. It was a good little car with very luxurious interior back in the day.
Love that interior.
Beautiful car, I had an 85 Lincoln Continental and one of my biggest regrets in life is selling it last year.
My old aunt Henrietta had an 85 New Yorker. That car was bullet proof. She never stopped before putting the car in drive from reverse. The digital speedometer would read 7 or 8 mph backward and she would just put it in drive and go. My father's 98 Regency Olds had 2 new transmissions before he traded it for the Dynasty. I sure miss that car.
My parents had one of those. But it was silver with over stuffed red velvet seats. No turbo though. Talking dash-"DOOR IS AJAR". Glorified K car really. Had a digital mileage computer. Dad loved all the bell & whistles. Before he retired he didn't even like power windows. Lol! The only problem I recall was the front brake rotors would keep warping cause they were not big enough for the weight. That made the brake pedal pulsate pretty bad. The interior was the plushest poofy loaded car my parents ever owned. Yours really brings back memories. Thanks for sharing it. 👍
Rich Corinthian leather..
😆
Try finding that type of seats/upholestery in today's luxury vehicles. Today's cars quality has decreased dramatically.
I fully agree. All 'American' cars have uncomfortable bucket seats, and look like European or Japanese imports, most are are too small, except some of the larger SUVs.
Wow. That is a classic. Beautiful car my friend! Looks gorgeous. Keep her clean like that. I'm actually looking for a clean 87 Ford Thunderbird...
This reminds me of my grandparents, they always drove the New Yorkers... great vid... beautiful car.
My first ever car was a 1991 Oldsmobile Cutlass. That was in 2005, and man I miss it. At first I was embarrassed of it, but it had cruise, power seats, power windows, AC, and the most comfortable seats I've been in since owning cars.
I think there are a vast number of guys like me who want to one day own a car like this one once their kids are grown, and they'll just get more rare as time goes on. Hold on to this thing and keep it in the shape it is here and you'll be sitting on a gold mine. I think. Then again, any stock I buy plummets, so maybe I don't know anything.
One last thing, what is the music playing at 5:58?
What a beautiful seats, nobody makes those in this days...
Wow!!! Absolutely Gorgeous. I wish US car companies would make cars that emphasized comfort over performance. Beautiful car, thanks for sharing!!
It would be great to take us for a ride with the camera facing the hood and windows down so we can here the engine. Such a cool sounding engine. I just bought a 1985 Lebaron turbo.
That interior 🤩👍
The flowered Kleenex box is a staple and must be there at all times. What a beauty!!
Wow, I graduated high school in ‘85 and loved the New Yorker, that was a real luxury car that reflected the materialistic 80s !
Hi I'm gilberto , that's a beautiful automobile looky you to have that car, keep taking care of that jwel it is worth it thank you so much for showing us bye my friend.
It's in much better shape than a lot of new cars out there right now.
Nice car that brings back childhood memories - that and the Phantom were my wow cars when I was under 10.
Juan Carlos Salinas thanks! That’s why I bought it too! It brings back great memories for me!
A true time capsule from K car eras.nice and very mint👍.thank you for showing this beautiful car.
Sweeeeet ride! Takes me back to the great days of my youth, the 80s! Beautiful car!
Loved the look of these cars back in the day. I still think they look great.
Looks like the 1st car you drive in gta4
Roman's taxi is roughly based on the late 70s Pontiac Bonneville. Like a 78. Look it up. The back end and tail lights are exactly the same.
Beautiful little car.
The interior is amazing.
I had a blue one and the seats were just great to sit on. Very comfortable ride. And they got great mileage.
Beautiful car. Congratulations! Regards from Mexico.
Beautiful! It is too bad that they no longer make luxury cars this! Plus I love all of the digital display like this.
its so friggin beautiful! please never get rid of it!
I have a hard time believing this is not a 2020 model. I mean that car's condition puts brand new ones to shame.
THIS is a luxury car. Perhaps the finest ever built. Digital dash, all the extras, black exterior with red leather interior... The voice reminders are really cool as well.
It has one feature that no luxury car today has - nostalgic value.
I am in love with that car.
This car is beautiful! I just realized this post is several years old. You may not get this message. About ten years ago I owned an unrestored all original in great shape 1965 Chrysler New Yorker four door hardtop, 413 dual exhaust, daffodil yellow with black vinyl c-pillers. That year is my favorite New Yorker body style. However, I enjoyed seeing your '85 New Yorker. 😊
That is one gorgeous car, that colour combination is so perfect! The digital dash was amazing in that era, but I seem to recall they were optional in the U.S. but standard in Canada. The only fly in the ointment would be the lack of an overdrive automatic transmission. I had a LeBaron GTS turbo with a 5 speed, after regular cruising along at 75+mph in my car, when it was in for a repair I was loaned a car just like yours finding myself severely limited in speed since the engine was screaming at such high rpms at just 60 mph. But now that should not matter as this car deserves to be driven lightly protecting it's pristine condition.
Everything works on it still! Turbo still spools up nicely!
D Rosa I had an 1984 one. The timing chain broke, so I junked it. Still miss those seats!
I had one of those it was black with gray interior and I loved it when it said don't forget your keys (i did on occasion) I'd always say thank you :) That car also did amazing in the snow. I'd get another one if I could find one decent it was that nice and gas mileage was really great
The back seats look pretty comfy and I love that robotic voice!
Beautiful car, I always liked how the k car's had the voice system. First time I started up an old lebaron, I was startled, it said all systems are functioning
Justin belknap thank you!!! The EVA (electronic voice alert) is a pretty cool item to have on an 80’s car! I think it gives a special memory for these cars!
D Rosa Daytonas and Lasers (Dodge and Chrysler) had twice the number of responses, including ones for taillights and brake pads
@@comgeek24 I never knew that? Are you sure??? Why would Chrysler program more voice commands for different cars when all apply to all vehicles?
I'm not partial to Chrysler, but there is no question this is a fine, well-kept automobile.
I'm not sure I'd buy one, but if someone ever offered me a Chrysler like this, I wouldn't hesitate for a second. I'd pamper it and cherish it as its other owner had, simply because it's a terrific piece of American engineering that will never exist again.
I've got an 88 Cadillac Brougham with red leather interior, love the color. This car is in great shape, thanks for sharing!
Even Ricardo Montalban is proud of you
Yes, but I associate him more with the Chrysler Cordoba. He did a New Yorker commercial as well.
Lights_Out
Well if he did a New Yorker commercial then he’s fucking proud. Lol
Singer Jack Jones was the spokesman in the New Yorker commercials. But everyone else got the joke. Ricardo Montelbam will always be associated with Chrysler’s “Corinthian” leather.

Outstanding car...love it.my uncle had this one in black too..reminds me of my grandmother's Buick Electra she had back then too.
Gotta love those red or blue interiors with the dimpled leather seats. They don't make em like this anymore.
God i wish they made interiors like that today
When I was a kid in the 80's my aunt had one just like this except it was silver. She bought it brand new and kept it until 1991 when she traded it in for a Cadillac DeVille. I really miss those days seeing the cars from this time period.
Duuuuude👍👍👍👍👍👍👍!!!!
A lot of these older cars had a way better ride suspension than a lot of today's newer models a lot smoother. That's just my personal opinion.
Smoother =/= better. These are some heavy land yachts. Hope nothing comes infront of you cuz you’ll be having a bad time
@Silver N Black Mopar compared to some of the shit cars in the 80s yeah
You Americans have been sold a lie about European "handling" European cars handle in the way they do because of the European roads they have to drive on American roads are much different longer wider straighter European handling standards are waisted on them much better was the traditional ride handling compromise that you already had in the states American cars for American roads now all you have are uncomfortable euro boxes like we have
My mother had one with white paint and blue velour leather. It's a really comfy, nice riding car. I enjoyed it.
We need someone like Lee again R.I.P him but you really take care of that thing and I love it
This was actually my 1st car...I loved that car
Dean Cooper Me too!!!! This is why I searched for one for so many years until finding this one!
This is a little car with a level of comfort simply non existant anymore, you can drive it for hours and hours and not get tired, simply wonderful
