    Hey great job on this! I have made quite a few conversions to gas with electric and enjoyed seeing how you set this one up. I may have to give it a try myself!

      Thanks, yes it worked well. If probably still be using it if I hadn't built a larger one now.

    Hi..i have a question, hope you find this... So the nod on the pressure gauge regulator, do we have to tighten that during the firing inorder to give more pressure?

      @@highlandpotterystudio Hi, I keep the knob on the cylinder set at 1.4bar, and adjust the needle value at the burner to control amount of flame.

    What's the max temperature such kiln can reach?

    • @thelittlepotcompany
      @thelittlepotcompany  2 роки тому

      Max I took it to was about 1250C could probably go higher though

    How did you cut your round shelves

    • @thelittlepotcompany
      @thelittlepotcompany  5 років тому

      I used a hand held circular saw with a masonary blade. I'm a bit scared of them but it worked!

      Good too know I’ll have to go find a blade and try it slowly lol

    Great video, loads of info. Thank you so much. Mind if I ask where can I get your burner at? I was looking at weedburners, but their loudness really worries me. My neighbors won't be happy, so I'm trying to find an alternative that does the job.
    Thank you for reading.

      Thanks, I got it from a company called stedmark.com in the UK. It does get a bit loud when you get to higher temperatures..

    So after a year now, How is this downdraft setup working for you? I have been firing propane updraft with some mixed results and just started on a new older kiln propane conversion. I like your setup, the way gas comes in on the side and diversion from bricks back down to Flu. Is this proving effective for say cone 6 ?

      I'm still using it. Pretty happy, it's fires well or exactly same cone top and bottom. There's a few spots that get really roast on flame side, and reduction is crap on the lowest shelves away from the flame. Hard to fire plates without them cracking, no bagwall is a bit of a problem I think. I can get about 25 decent mugs each firing which is alright for me at the moment.

      I'm firing to cone 7 , but was doing cone 8 without any problems

      I've never gone over cone 8, I think it would be possible though.
