Been doing maintenance for just over 30 years. This stuff is a great part of why I started and am still doing it. It is a different job everyday and we make a difference!

Enjoy watching. I started out serving a industrial Electrician apprenticeship later as a Industrial mechanic
I enjoyed the trades for many years. Could never be a desk jockey For years I even enjoyed taking night course’s to expand my knowledge
I really enjoyed the meat and potatoes on things worked however as time went by I became disappointed when you have Bosses who didn’t know their Ass from a hole in a ground
No matter what field you are in it really ruins a lot of good people. Thank God I made it to retirement 57:08n 57:08
Now I’m happy again working in my own home shop for myself with my Dogs in there too and gets me away from the wife too. Haha.
Even have an automotive lift in there. Happy again !! Enjoy your channel but I would never again want to work for anyone but self. Thank you for sharing

I'm a mechanical/process engineer and process cooling water systems are part of my everyday life. I spent a year after college as an operating engineer doing what you do (very well). My lexicon is different than yours, but that is not my quibble. My safety issues (at my relatively old age) is your own safety. Working alone with high voltage and heavy items increases your risk of serious injury. Eschewing a respirator when making all the dust is also not particularly safe, though more chronic than acute.
    Love your content, stay safe.

35:41 Dan, when I replace old wires I like to tape the new ones on to the old ones so when I pull them out the new ones get pulled at the same time

Great work Dan as always. Always love your thoroughness and positive attitude which is something I try to carry with me to work especially during those early morning starts!
I just finished a 12 hour shift as a fellow industrial maintenance tech, so one would think the last thing I would want to do is watch a video like this but man I enjoyed every second. These jobs never get old no matter how many times we do them, that sense of achievement when the pumps start humming is like music to the ears.

Classic example of “man I hope it doesn’t start raining in here when I turn this on”

Anticipating your cross-training with your old single-bottom Amish plow your Mormon neighbor bought for you so the guys could love your hugs and you like the good ol' days.

Dan I do industrial pump repair and precision millwright work. Do you ever dabble in laser shaft alignment at your facility?

Do you lock the box and put the key in your pocket. Or add a lockout tag .

You know you wouldn't be knuckle busting if you had the right wrench instead of ol trusty adjusty ... Anyway you could have left the pump face on an pulled the motor an pump itself an saved time an weight saving ..

A dab of grease will hold your gaskets . Until you get your bolts started . Or maybe something water based . Just saying .
