I do not like this at all. I've been avoiding the block editor because of how much I hate it, and now I may have to switch away from WooCommerce if that's going to be the future.
When they were redeveloping the UI they could have taken the time to create a block-style layout that matched the default product front-end view. That would have given more of a Visual Builder "look & feel" (thinking of Divi, Elementor, Brizy, etc) which would have been more intuitive for general users who don't have a design team to build out their product pages.
@@WPCrafter haha nope definitely referring to the new woo. It seems they have only developers on their team....and no designers/UI people. Let's hope it gets better.
Yes, I agree. I've never been a fan of the Gutenberg update. Clearly with the mass amount of people using the classic editor plugin, the new Guttenberged WordPress is going down hill. This may be good for your plugin Adam! Do you think mobile phone web editing is causing this? Just looking at the desktop version and seeing it so narrow makes no sense, unless they are lazy and don't want things to move responsively based on device.
I've been following you for the last five years and Adam you are a master of your WP craft. Made major purchases base on your insights. Thx so much. BTW - I love the 5 o'clock shadow. Makes you look as bad ass as your content. :-)
Cartflows is my love 🔥🔥 I just want it to be like clickfunnel 2.0 and have such features like in built LMS and community. if that happens anytime soon, it will be crazy!!
Hello! After watching your videos I am not sure what should I use in order to create a website store. Cause there is woocomerce or other options, there is bricks, elementor and the new "builder integrated themes inside wordpress". ¿Which options would you recommend to build a store online? with filters as crocoblock... Specialy thinking on affiliated or dropshipping. Thank You So Much! :D
Hi Adam! Once again thanks for your precious content! I was expecting to meet you here in Athens for the EU WordCamp! Did you managed to come? I was so excited to finally meet the guy you made me confident to build my entire company! As for the upcoming changes in WooCommerce, i'm really curious about variable products. Haven't seen any option for them. Am i missing something? Thanks again dear mentor! Cheers, Kosmas @ BrandaLAB
And in the end, the users win 😃. Competition is great when it pushes companies to do their best work. It's not so great when it's just a bunch of copying each other.
The new Woo UI, while on initial viewing seems cool, ultimately it demonstrates the single mindedness of the Gutenberg project of focusing on limited use cases and ignoring quite a lot of others. A use case that comes to mind is a UI designed purely for data entry, the kind of layout one might use for showing custom fields in the desired order for a custom post type which has a template applied on the front end… maybe something that would fit the product creation setup. While the block editor is a great addition to Wordpress, in ways far better than the old editor, it seems to be optimised to work for bloggers and doesn’t fit well with the way many users have pushed the platform to create far more sophisticated sites with complex layouts which the new editor struggles to emulate. This is particularly evident when trying to create responsive layouts.
What sucks about WordPress and WooCommerce is that they only react when they see competition (Shopify) is leaving them behind. They are not innovators, at least not anymore, and that just makes me want to switch to Shopify.
I already hate the update after update month over month year over year for last 10+ years. Site broken after some major updates and every major update make me nervous and I need to spend hours to check the site after every update. Please stop updating, stop innovating, just give us a stable shopping site that can run 50 years without me keep worrying about it every few days.
I'm dipping my toe back into the pool of website building, and so far I'm a little irritated by blocks. I haven't tried WooCommerce yet, but I hope we can still use the WP interface for a long time to come.
Great question and the answer is YES! We have been working on it for the past few months and it should be available next month. You can migrate products, customers, orders, and active subscriptions if you are using WooCommerce Subscriptions. All soon, very soon.
@@WPCrafter Adam, that’s amazing news. I can’t wait. I’ll be able to move a few clients over. Also, I’m hoping you’ll be able to integrate with Square. I have one client in particular who won’t budge on that one. Sigh.
Pretty nice ui, I think the other areas deserve the same ui too. Order, graphics of sales, and also in the front end (specially the sales funnel) need a revamp.
Hey Adam, I know this is off topic but that little bit of beard stubble looks great! Are you considering growing a beard? I think that could be a really nice look for ya man.
Thank you Jaya!! I am going to grow it out for the remainder of the year to see how it works out. First for me but am noticing that beard are quite common. I’m at a disadvantage because I can’t get a new look with my hair because I have none lol.
Back in 2007, when we started getting involved in WP, we almost left many times because of our Clients complaining that they can't get much to work correctly unless they had a Mster's degree in Computer Science.

Woo is helping you sell your alternative. Congrats 🎉
The UI is nasty
Yes it does. If I have to use something like that, instead of Kadence Woo Templates... Good night!
My take as well. Unless you were referring to the new CartFlows v2 stuff at the end 😂.

This is why I get plugins from you Adam😊
You can't even add tags in the new product editor 😅
The new product UI is a big NO NO for me! I will use the classic as long as it is possible.
I checked my settings and it tells me that Astra Pro is not compatible. Shocker :(
They will have a release out for it later this month.
Do you have any info on when LearnDash’s Woocommerce addon and Astra’s Pro plugin will be compatible with HPOS?
The LearnDash one, sorry I don't know, I am so out of that loop. For Astro Pro, I think that is about to launch.
Are they updating their cart look and flow as well?
The acronym should have been SHOP instead of HPOS. :)
HOPS would definitely look and sound better than H-POS ... lol
They need some branding help, ha. HOPS would have been sweet.

You dont like Woocommerce because you have to sell cartflow ? LOL

From what I can see you can add attributes but beyond this nothing to suggest anything other than a simple product.
Is woo commerce reliable? I have seen that using woocomerce will open up to hacks, is that true
Woo saw they had some competition and decided to finally do develop something.
And in the end, the users win 😃. Competition is great when it pushes companies to do their best work. It's not so great when it's just a bunch of copying each other.

That's why I love free-market capitalism. As soon as new competition hits the market, the top dogs are forced to improve their products...
Yes this is true, when there is competition after your customers, it makes to step up your game. I have been on the giving and receiving end of it 😂.

All I can say is, FINALLY
Amen brother! Should have been 5 years ago. Or I can say, it could have been 5 years ago that they did this.
What is good WooCommerce will allow using Gutenberg blocks inside description. For the past it was requiring alterations inside functions.php
WTF is this madness. I couldn't be any more disappointed with what they've done with the UI. It makes no sense
But where's the section to add product tags???😳😳😳
Do you know if it works w learndash, memberium, SOS inventory, ship station, and Bear bulk editor?
Will it ever be possible at some point to migrate woo into surecart? Kind of like how Yoast can be imported into rankmath? Or is that too complex?
