- Korean R&B star Lena Park (Park Jung-hyun) performs the U.S. national anthem at the Columbia University School of General Studies graduation ceremony on May 16 at 9 a.m. in New York City. Park, an English and comparative literature major who will graduate from a college known for its many students who are professional musicians and dancers, plans to return to Korea in the fall to continue in her music career.

13년전 박정현이 이곳에세 본인의 모교 졸업식에 졸업생을 대표해서 애국가를 불렀다는 것이 시간이 13년 뒤인 2024년 서울 mlb 서울 시리즈 개막전 LA VS padres 경기에서 미국 애국가를 불렀다는 것이 참으로 여러 생각을 만들게 한다
무반주로 에코며 리버브 하나도 없는 마이크에서 저렇게 뽑아내는게 경이로움

박정현 대단하다. 역시~~~! 한국에서 음악활동하며, 미국을 오가며 뉴욕에 있는 아이비 리그 대학중 하나인 콤롬비아 대학에서 학사를 받고, 졸업식에서 학생 대표로 미국 국가도 부르시고, 삶에 모든 곳에서 열정을 두루 갖추고 열심히 활동하시는 모습이 멋집니다. ^^

공교롭게도 제가 삶이 버거울때 기분을 올려야 할때 박정현,알리,소향의 유튜브에서 재생되는 성조기여 영원하라는 듣습니다. 성량 쏘울 그 노래 가사는 좋은 듯 합니다. 근데 제 sns나 어디가서 참 좋다고 타인에게 말하기 좀 조심스럽네요.ㅎ
걍 노래 시작하기전부터 자신감에 차있음 부르는 순간 순간 내내

이거 진짜 노래 잘 부르는 것임. 아마추어라면 저런 곳에서도 노래 잘(?) 부르고 뽑낼 수 있겠지만, 항상 대중의 평가를 받는 프로가수는 쫄 수밖에 없고 꺼릴 수밖에 없는 열악한 시설. 공연장 시설의 음향설비도 아니고 저런 조그만 연설장 일반 마이크에 엠프 달아 어떤 에코 같은 것도 없이 100% 생목소리로 저렇게 용기 있게 잘 부른다는 것은 그만큼 노래를 잘 부르고 스스로에 대한 믿음이 있다는 것임.

단순히 진짜 노래 잘 부르는것이 아니라 그냥 단순히 '프로' 라 가능. 아마추언 꿈에도 못꿈

She did a great job on delivering the height of emotion on different parts, instead of relying on the usual climax that most singers do.

It's just amazing how she graduated from Columbia while taking breaks to continue her music career in Korea and still be able to be in Phi Beta Kappa. She's always wanted to go back to school and was able to achieve that dream when she was 34 years old. I'm sure it was a great honor for her to sing at her graduation and she probably wanted to make this song her own :)

Not too many people can sing the National Anthem with confidence and feeling. At West Point they made us practice daily so after 4 years we wouldn't screw it up at the commencement ceremony.
