Wait util the iphone 5 come out, you will see all the customers queuing outside the apple store. The small number of customer make sense as there's no newly introduced product at the moment .Moreover, this store is located on the CBD of Hong Kong, at the opening time I believe most of us were at work and not able to be there. I was using the Samsung Galaxy S and I have switched to iphone 4 lately, the GS1 hanged everyday at least for once. For stability Iphone is really the best.

As for the store, it's just people appreciating that an official apple store store here in HK is opened cause before it's just you have to go to third party retailers to buy an apple product

And you could ask the exactly same question to the whole world. Not only Hong Kong is getting hyped. Plus in Hong Kong(China) there are more cool or stylish accessories than anywhere in the world, making it easily accessible. Well thats my opinion =3
@Silverjda Ok besides facetime. Symbian OS is just a dying system, its slow, has a lot of issues with ovi and other things, but i do give Nokia points for their hardware. Who doesn't want a fast, slim phone thats quick at what it does, has almost every app you can think of.
@annihilatorVS1 was a little confused when you said you were pissed about Apple hardware, the best quality build that you can't find by any manufacturer. You're talking about specs, yes you can buy a PC which can be dirt cheap compared to a mac, or build one your own even cheaper. But you will never find a computer, mp3 player, phone, or a mini tv box that has a better build quality and sleekness that Apple has. Not to mention the smooth and easy OS that just works.
@moralesparra84 ipad 2 all sold out in HK online within 1 hour. and it was out of stocks for months! people needs to go to work i guess and IFC is not the most accessible area. at least you can queue there. it has a lot more space. HK is way too crowded to have people camped up outside on the streets.
@keenkennyny, but that's a myth about apple. In reality it's just a medium quality intel based motherboard. Pretty much all the chips are the same. PC's with superior build quality can be had for far less. They contain premium capacitors, voltage stabilizers, faster bus etc and more creating higher reliability that apple can't compete with. They're also fitted with the newest cpu architecture while apple usually waits an extra year. You're merely repeating marketing catch phrases.
@annihilatorVS1, true. $1600 imacs were still getting lousy core2duo's when pc already had i7's. Then when they finally got faster i7, they wanted nearly $2000 for the same thing I could get for $700. And low and behold, I could still run adobe software or cool editors etc and complete projects more quickly. And while there's nothing wrong with either OS, there was nothing THAT special on mac's to make it worth an extra grand. Actually I like win 7 more.

Hong Kong is great. Almost everyone is multilingual and friendly to foreigners, however I still don't get why there is such a massive hype behind a store selling just apple products. It's not like apple is superior to androids or any other phones. It appears to me that Hong Kong people are obsessed with iphone and ipads to show off to their mates and not actually for its benefits :(
@CNBLEW I agree with you even im a hong kong-nese. there was once that im on the mtr. there were 2 men standing aside, and one of them was holding an iphone 3gs. the other man saw it and take his i pad out, just flipping over and doing nothing. so then the guy with the iphone takes his ipad2 out and the ipad guy was so awkward. how stupid is this? just for showing off and everyone on the train was like omg a battle of apple products again what a shame.
@XenoType008, while it's nice not to have a monopoly, it's perceived as "revolutionary". There's nothing wrong with either OS, however, there's no amazing advantage to apple's. Also it's amazingly easy to pick almost any unoptimized hardware, providing it's not overly cheap junk, and have it beat the pants off a mac. And when better hardware is chosen, it blows macs away. My $700 setup is faster than some $2500 imacs at video rendering and other tasks. The cattle are in istores...
