    I just visited Peru for five days (Oct 5th - 9th, 2019). This song can be heard by musicians sometimes playing in the town streets. Such a peaceful, mysterious and alluring sound and song - brings an absolute feeling of peace, love and tranquility.

    Thank you for this beautiful version of this beautiful song. Those sounds are rain sticks, they bless the water.
    This language does not sound Spanish to me, perhaps it is Quechua.
    Creator bless all Incans, Mayans and other native peoples of that land, and keep them strong. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Quechuan_languages
    one love

    My first encounter with Andean music was listening to a group playing at Fisherman's Wharf in San Francisco. Now it is an important part of my collection.

    우리 인간의 역사.
    애절하고 안타까운 이야기.
    우리 또한 훗날 이런 안타까운 이야길 전해 줄 수 있다면 .
    인간의 이야기는 영원히 영원히 끝이 없어라...

    Just wonderful!!!Being a peruvian myself, I believe this is one of the best songs ever made that reflects the great past and present Peruvian history.I heard this song interpreted by fine musicians and one of them is the great Paul Simon among others. What I like about this one is that is sang in Quechua, the Incas language. Please correct me if I am wrong on this.Well done.Thank you.

    I have had the awesome priviledge to go to Machu Piccu twice, the second time I purchased a flute form one of the vendors in Agues Caliente, The first song I am learning on the flute is this one . If the singer is singing this in Qechua I wish you the best finding the lyrics, While I was in Peru, Cusco I also purchased a Bible written in Qechua, a very interesting language, people and culture, We have so much to learn. I did a video of my trip to Cusco, I have not posted it yet, maybe I should,

    this song shouldnt have copyright anymore.. it was last copyrighted in 1933 by Daniel Alomía Robles, in the United States. so that means... we can use it for movies/films without any infringement (with credit given to the original composer ofcourse) right?

      Hello Daniel, I'm from Huanuco, the place where Danie Alomia Robles born, we speak in spanish there, the spanish lyrics (as I known there aren't official lyrics, but the most popular is this)
      El amor cómo un cóndor volará
      Mi corazón, golpeará
      Después sé irá
      La luna en el desierto brillará
      Tú vendrás, solamente un beso
      Me dejará
      Quien sabe mañana donde irás
      Que harás, me pensarás;
      Yo sé que nunca volverás
      Más pienso que no viviré,
      Cómo podré.
      La angustia y el dolor me dejarán
      Mi corazón, sufrirá
      Y morirá.
      El amor cómo un cóndor volará
      Mi corazón, sufrirá y morirá
      Regresarás.
      Quien sabe mañana donde irás
      Que harás, me pensarás;
      Yo sé que nunca volverás
      Más pienso que no viviré,
      Cómo podré.
      In English:
      Love is like a a condor fly
      My heart will hit
      Then you will know
      The moon will shine in the desert
      You will come, only a kiss
      I will
      Who knows where you go tomorrow
      That'll do, I think;
      I know that you'll never
      More I do not think I will live,
      How I can.
      The anguish and pain let me
      My heart will suffer
      And die.
      Love how a condor fly
      My heart will suffer and die
      You will return.
      Who knows where you go tomorrow
      That'll do, I think;
      I know that you'll never
      More I do not think I will live,
      How I can.
      Well.. that was translated by google.. hope it helps

    How did Paul Simon get away with downright thievery!?

    • @Khandro0
      @Khandro0 9 років тому +8

      It was only due to ignorance of actual authorship. Simon had been mis-informed by Los Incas, the group he had heard playing the melody in Paris.
      A friendly court case was settled with heir of Daniel Alomía Robles.

      This is EXACTLY what Americans like to do. No capacity to write their own songs; either buy the rights of someone and hope no one finds out, or at least care. Or simply modify it a bit and steal hands down.
      And the same is happening today: A good example is this teen idiot Justin Bieber. He is constantly rewording the Latin pop songs into his own.
