    Pros of this video:
    - Since graduating college in W. PA 15 years ago, I miss that Pennsylvania twang
    - The lecturing on pin steel woke me up. I won't even THINK about getting an aftermarket pin now.
    Cons:
    - I can't actually see what you're doing. Close-ups would be nice, but since I've installed a LPK, I can infer what you're doing.
    The video overall is very helpful, and even if it's hard to get the kit installed, I can watch cool .mil photos in the meantime.

    Installed my SSA-e trigger today. First one, took about 10 minutes. Video is a great help. Would be helpful to zoom in a little more on the hammer installation portion. Probably the hardest part. Took me a few minutes between looking at the angle of the lower and the installation pictures to figure out where the springs went. You guys make awesome products. Installed my mark 8 Mlok hand guard today as well. Super easy and amazingly well fitting. Super fast delivery on my purchase and thanks for the little extras. You guys are a class act.

    Mr. Geissele, your pace of instruction and clear voice are excellent, but this instructional video calls for some clear close ups of the trigger and hammer installation. Between the video and the instructions, Im pretty sure my trigger is installed correctly, but Im having a really hard time with aligning the hammer spring. The picture in the instructions is no help at all. It looks as though I have to bend the legs waaaay back, and that makes sense to build spring tension, but Im afraid of damaging the spring without close up instructions. Im also not seeing where the grooves on the pins capture the spring and prevent walkout. Please take some closeups and insert that into your video. It is easy to do with Windows Movie Maker or the Apple analog. Thanks for making these videos. You are a great engineer. I am looking forward to buying the Tavor trigger. Please also make a trigger for the Sig Sauer P556 pistol (550 family of rifles).

    Could have better closeups, but the verbal description is precise enough for even a beginner. I've been back to watch this a couple times now not because I need a tutorial, but because it's a nice, mellow video to watch. Thanks G

    Bill, your trigger videos are absolutely the best, bar none. You know what you are doing and you know how to instruct, you even take the time to explain 'why'. I'm the kind of person that if you tell me what to do, I'll remember it for 5 minutes... but if you explain 'why', I'll remember it forever.
    Thanks Bill!!!!!

    I just complete an install of the SSA-E trigger. No problem. No more than a light tapping on the pins. I am mechanically inclined, but this is the first trigger install that I have done. I did not have to remove the safety to replace the trigger. It took about one hour for me to complete. The alignment tool helped with the hammer install. Basically, no problems with the install. Now to the range to test.😀

    I've never built up a lower or installed a trigger. I just installed the SSA trigger in one of my AR's in my lap at my desk in about 10 minutes while watching this video. It is super easy to do with the slave pin. I was being extra careful and If I do it again I'm sure it would take no more than 5 minutes. Thanks for the video.

      this is an old video first shot at a time when a "skeletal jig" was not invented at the time. it did not exist in the industry. nowadays, anyone can buy a jig. and plenty of videos today exist, showing internals. a zoom could never show the physical install because the thumb has to come up and over to apply just the right pressure, covering the top of the cavity. do a search for "AR skeletal trigger jig". there was no budget to CAD design or even mill one. best regards.

    Loved this trigger (SSA-E) in my 5.56 AR15 but be aware this trigger will not work in a Tippmann M4-22lr and results in failure to fire even though the rim of the round appears to get hit pretty hard. Geissele customer service was informative but unwilling to accept a "used" trigger to be returned. Geissele also stated that the trigger would eventually be "destroyed" if used in this firearm!
    Please find a solution to adapt this excellent trigger for 22 use.

    Oh, yes, that's correct now.
    I completely forgot about the "slave pin." To get it aligned takes practice.
    There is a video on the geissele.com eCommerce site where you see the use of the slave pin during Bill Geissele's installation of the National Match / DMR / Service Rifle trigger.
    Brownell's web site should have the same video.
    There is a unique tool as well in the event you lost the slave pin. I'll ask the boss about it.

    Just installed an SSA-E in my lwrc spr. Could not be happier! Like it is noted though, if you plan on it being a weapon that could be used for SD, then the enhanced version is not for you. A 3.5 lb trigger is too light for a SD rifle if you ask me. Get the regular SSA if its a shtf/SD rifle. But for paper punching or hunting the E is beautiful.

    Ordered one of these yesterday. It got here today(I love living so close that I get one day shipping all the time from MidwayUSA with ground shipping). Took maybe a whole ten minutes to install, and that is including trying to get the grease in just the right spots. If I don't count the time the grease took, it may not have even taken 5 minutes. And the feel of this trigger is amazing. I wonder if it will get even better as it breaks in?

    @TacOpsDaddy ...
    your nickel boron hammer is a mil-spec part.
    sister company ALG Defense makes the ACT trigger/hammer kit, based on Stoner's mil-spec design --algdefense-dot-com.
    Geissele Automatics custom kits depart from the mil-spec design, and the trigger/hammer must be properly paired for safety and function. we don't sell custom triggers separate from the custom hammers.
    fear not, the GA custom kits are hardened, twice cryogenically frozen, EDM wire cut with razor sharp sear surfaces.

    @rodney... You'll have to confirm with CMMG if their lower receiver uses the mil-spec AR trigger. If it does, then you can upgrade the mil-spec AR trigger to a Geissele custom AR trigger. Best of luck!

  • @KittyFooFo0
    @KittyFooFo0 12 років тому

    sister company, ALG Defense, manufactures the ACT-- ALG Combat Trigger-- which consists of a mil spec trigger configuration, with contact surfaces cut razor-sharp with EDM process (no stoning required), with trigger nickel-boron-ed and hammer nickel-teflon-ed.
    SSA on the other hand is not mil spec. to get the max trigger performance out of the AR15 platform, the SSA had to evolve from the mil spec design.
    your Fail Zero hammer is mil spec, while the SSA is custom, cryogenically tempered twice.

    just installed ALG QMS and then an SSA. Will be interesting to see how they shoot. Hope to buy an SSA at to replace the QMS if I end up liking it better. Thank you for giving detailed product info and tips about install. Pins tight, but once aligned, bingo. I am confused by the difference in the QMS pins (three scorings on the pins) and the SSA pins (only two and offset). You say in this video which way the pins are installed on the SSA doesn't matter, I hope I have not made a mistake.

My first 3 shots i put strait through the heart with in a 1 inch spread. The SSA trigger greatly improves accuracy, and is actually safety. The heavy trigger pull on Factory AR's is ridiculous. Badly effecting accuracy. Rog

    @normsville The SSA combat trigger is very good when broken in after 200 actuations. But if you feel more confident in your ability as time goes by, the SSA-Enhanced (SSA-E) has a much lighter second stage ideal for use in precision Squad Designated Marksman type rifles.
