Elvis's goldsuit arrives in London by armoured vehicle

- One of Elvis Presley's most iconic outfits goes on display in London for the first time.
A £10,000 gold suit worn by the King of Rock & Roll joins the exhibition at The O2 which is the biggest of its kind in Europe. Reya El-Salahi reports.

I was lucky enough to see this exhibition, brilliant!
Everytime am reminded of THE KING unable to mingle in person with his multitude adoring fans and simle admirers around the world, Col. Tom Parker pricks my senses in deep hatred. This man made ELVIS the most famous and timeless entertainment icon but he was too rude and selfish and too soon mismanaged his gold mine. Somehow, CTP could be partly blamed for ELVIS' death at so young age of 42 and also the failure of ELVIS to tour the globe for live concerts. NOW, British EP fans just had this consolation of seeing and maybe even touching and caressing that GOLD SUIT in preferred imaginations. CTP must be contemplating in his afterlife now seeing the "damage" he had done to non-American EP fans who were barred from partaking even the slightest glimpse of his GOLD MINE pulsating with electrifying live flesh, muscles and bones!!!
According to the Graceland historian manager, Angie Marchese, they loan these artifacts to these exhibits and have to sign a contract that they will take care of them. If they were ever damaged or stolen, one suit alone is somewhere around $50,000 to be owed back to the Elvis Presley estate in item loss fees. They could also be sued, depending on the circumstances!!!

There were 3 gold lame suits all made to the same specs. That was typical of Elvis, one to be worn, one to be washed/maintained and a spare in case of accidental damage to the 1st that the spare had to fill in for the 1st one. Elvis had 3 Aloha jumpsuits with two separate length capes and 3 belts.

it didn't cost 10 000 pound, the actual bill of the suit was 2500$,still a big price for a suit considering this was 1957!

@@leonolanofficial4581 I honestly don't think I should say while the owner is living ... From what I was told by the owner Graceland is also aware of their location and contact him frequently to acquire them.
@@leonolanofficial4581 No... I was in the right place at the right time to be shown the shoes. I got to hold them they looked old enough and the glittering or paint looked faded enough, the story of how they were acquired sounded plausible and from my research about the right shoe size. If I said the owners name you would probably believe it also. I'm sure you would recognize it.

It's possible they were, I recall commenting that I knew the brand and was surprised by the fact.
I also believe they were painted gold, I was surprised by that as well... It's been several years and I was a bit overwhelmed at the time.
