I come across your video on how to flush the Automatic Transmission in my 2012 Mazda5 Touring. I feel that it was very Informative the way you described on how to do it. I followed every step that you mentioned. It does take time but, it was well worth the time. My 2012 Mazda5 had 106,929 on it when I did the flush. I changed the Filter an about a week ago. I found the fluid was real dirty & black. So, as I mentioned I followed your steps to flush the transmission and the transmission is working so much better! Thank you for doing this video it is greatly appreciated. A very Satisfied “VIEWER”!
Good call, pointing out the cooler hose to drain! I've heard mixed things about what happens when the transmission fluid turns dark black (as extreme as "don't bother changing the fluid at that point, the transmission is done.) so how it is running now?
Hello, so if transmission fluid is dark grey, it means don't change transmission fluid? My AT light goes off and on (solenoid is getting stuck) according to mazda dealer. My dealer mechanic says he doesnt want to flush it because it might get worse. Is this true?
So with all the grey fluid comes metallic filings. If you’re trans is not shifting on time and or is intermittent, ie the overdrive engages randomly or only before your car is warmed up and no CEL light comes on, then the filings are clogging the via’s in the solenoids and filter. It would be wise to flush as is shown in this video to maintain say every 50k miles. At 100k miles replace the filter and fluid again as this video shows. If you are experiencing a shift issue without a cell light. You should drop the pan and remove shift solenoid A&B and ohm them out. They should read between 10.9 and 26.2 ohms. Most read in the middle say around 17ohms. If they read that then check the o-rings on them and replace if necessary. Otherwise the fluid is the lifeblood of the transmission. Keep it clean and fresh and you won’t experience much trouble with the Mazda transmission. Personally I do the same to flush it every 30k. It’s worth it to me to spend an extra 50$ to keep it running strong. Good luck and godspeed!

Worked for my 08 mazda 5. Thank you. You saved me a lot of hassle and money 👍👍👍
Glad it helped!
Just drop the pan and change the filter and fluid. The cost of the filter and fluid is less than the cost of the fluid needed to do the flush
Except that doesn't get the fluid that's trapped in the torque converter.

Cars Simplified Mazda's MV ATF goes black really fast! So do my fret, it's normal.
great video thanks one question when you have the car running with a hose hooked up to the cooler are you running the transmission low on ATF?
Where do you connect the hose? To the cooler or the hose that was disconnected?
Thank you for the video Sir.
Great info I was wondering if that was for the trany as there is no info on how to flush a Mazda 3. One video I saw said this was an engine oil cooler
thank you very much
Glad it helped!
I will try to do it for first time at 185k
Can i use luqi moly top tec 1200 that alternative to atf mv mazda ?
Ok, so basically you made a video telling us how you did it instead of showing yourself doing it 🤔.
Nice.
I'd do it again, but I don't have the car anymore.
