  • I previously made a quadcopter flight video of Tewkesbury ,back in September.Ironically in the last couple of days, the town has made the news due to a burst mains water pipe, leaving the town without mains water for 2 days as of present, with work ongoing.Ironically the location of the burst is on the severn ham ,which I flew over .Also,Severn Trent used a drone with thermal imaging to find the source of the leak, my drone can also be equipped with an add on thermal imaging module,so I should have offered my drone services and gone freelance lol.Heres hoping the problem is fixed soon

Thanks a lot, just shows, the bebop gets unfairly compared to the DJI Mavic, but the bebop 2 costs a third the price, and for that money,i think its an excellent drone, and you can get good results if you use it right, and fly in decent conditions.Have a great xmas

It certainly does, one of many things we take for granted in the modern age,and only realise how important it is when you get a problem such as this.I remember what it was like in 2007,but that of course was something else, what with the flooding.Hopefully any future floods wont be as bad as that again

Cool. I hope you get your water back soon for christmas. I was also thinking of ways I could make money from my drone offering aerial photography and videos to clients.... hmm

Think you need a licence and insurance. But Parrot are marketing my drone the bebop 2 for business ,a thermal imaging version for use for the fire service and a 3d mapping version which could be used for farming and the construction sector.Think touch wood the water is back on,i don't live there, but I work in the area,so wouldn't be much fun if you couldn't wash your hands or use the toilet lol.

Hey,we may all have to apply for licence eventually if the powers at be have their way, looks like it may be possibility in a year or 2 time, think it would apply to any drone pilot with a drone over 500 grams, which the bebop is .

I would like to get the licence regardless if the law goes that way so that I can use them for professional purposes as I get a lot of pleasure from flying them I never thought they could be so enjoyable... No doubt though a job doing it would suck the fun right out of it in no time. :D

Tewkesbury is not generally known for a shortage of water.

that's what I'm thinking,The standard camera on it isn't great, but would be tempted to attach a Mobius to it,thats the only downside to that quad ,the camera. When you think for just over £130,you can get a brushless GPS quad with a 1km range, cant complain at that price
