This cognac has changed since his review or his tastes are off on this one. Its a very delicate and smooth cognac with almost no alcohol burn. Subtle fruits and vanilla. Its a cognac that can be enjoyed. Today its $55.

Bite... Sounds like something a whisky drinker might like. And whisky teaches you to be patient and not judge a bottle by the first impression. And what you described about letting the glass breathe also implies significant age. I think I'd like this one. Will keep it in mind. Thanks. I thought you might be in France on a cognac buying trip 🍷

Hey Alex! Happy Holidays! I am definitely planning a trip! This bottle was interesting, to say the least. It is hard to compare to your typical XO Cognacs. Needless to say, it is not a Martell XO, but it is speaking value. You nailed it with the Bourbon resemblance. When you first open the bottle it tastes just like a 100 proof bourbon. It transformed dramatically over time. At 50% fill, it started to become a sweeter softer Cognac. Cheers

Nice review as always! This Cognac Sounds interesting, sometimes, I prefer something with strong character for enjoy myself but not like VS and this cognac seems like these alternative that I want, and sometimes I prefer something smooth and delicate like classic XO.Cheers!

Thank you Mcatalan! This is definitely a twist on your standard XO. The price point does not hurt either! Cheers!

So all in all brother should I buy this? Money is not a problem by the way so if this somewhat comes off as a VSOP or even a vs I would like to skip due to financial not being a problem for a more expensive XO

Nice to see u back max glad u finally tried it. Man this is my go to when I'm hitting on money. It is different for sure. To me i can taste so much grape its just very flavorful in fruit and it still has that xo spice which I love about xo' s it's not like the kirkland or the chabanneu which I have stopped buying now. The price point on that one just wasnt all that great for the package. That Kirkland has is the best all around aa far as flavor and price. This one though, man for $40 you can not beat it.

Hey Jay! Thanks for the recommendation. The Decourtet has some age and character to it. It is hard to beat that price point as well. I agree with you on Kirkland XO, it is my favorite sub $60 cognac. I just tried the Delamain XO ($100) and was blown away! You have to give it a try! Happy holidays bud! Cheers

Nice job. I agree with this. I'd give it a solid "B" - it's good, definitely not great. But for the price for an XO, it's a good deal. I won't buy it again but for the price, it was worth a shot.

I’ve been trying to find who the producer of this fine cognac is. So it’s from Ferrand? Great house. Been enjoying the line for years-I even think their VS is extremely great quality. It received high scores from Wine enthusiast as well. You should do a review on the VS version! I’ve also been trying to find info on this spirit online and have found no info...haven’t even been able to find a link to a particular producer.

I can’t find anything about this line on the ferrand website either, I know that certain houses release batches they don’t seem to claim. I’ve heard Chabbaneau cognac for example is produced by Camus

@@ran8108 the CHABANNEau XO is pretty I'm going to try the vsop today

I haven’t had a VS for a while but I’ll give it a try. I need a good cocktail cognac in my bar. Ha ha. Yeah it’s usually really tough to find the real house behind some of these bottlings. The cognac houses are in a sense ashamed to call These expressions their own so they do their best to distance themselves from them

To be honest is there any of these Decorte , Chabanneau + Claude chantelier really closed to XO of big four ? What is the big difference between low and high end ?

Cool seeing an educated brother listening to some ghetto rap (messy marv cognac dreams) on his intro, city business 💯

Miquel, you posted this two years ago and I've been drinking the DeLuz XO for about 4 years. It's great. Hennesy XO is a good quality comparison to it, although it is not as sweet.

4 sawbucks, you say? I think it's worth a try. But you say it's rougher than Hennessey?
That might make me think twice.

It has some age to it, but it’s certainly rough around the edges. I think it’s worth a shot! 🥂
