Never in my 65 years have I liked anything silver but you have made me have second thoughts. I truly love the looks of those pieces painted. Rachel…you have a gift for bringing life to secondhand treasures. I am always anxious for the next makeover you bring to us. Sometimes I wish you’d give us a peek at all the projects in waiting in your kitchen. It seems to be a never ending Cinderella story coming from that room! You never disappoint and that is a fact!!!:):):)
Awe - I appreciate your kind words so very much. Thank you! And I would show you around my kitchen but it is still in a pretty embarrassing state of messiness . . . It is getting better with each batch of projects, though - and I will definitely consider showing it off once it's in just a touch more of a respectable state, lol!
LOL, that about sums it up. A never ending Cinderella story. Good analogy.
My fav is the butterfly silver tray!
Glad you liked it! :) Thank you!
I love them all Rachel. Looking forward to seeing what you have made on Friday.
I'm glad you liked them! Thanks so much!
I love the painted silver with the flowers on them and the frame with the key looks great
Thanks so much 😊
This is one of my favorite assortment of projects that you have done, which is remarkable because all of your projects are always so well done and attractive.
Well that makes me so happy to hear!! :) Thank you!!
I, for one, always appreciate seeing the struggles because I hit walls all the time when I'm crafting. It's nice to see and learn from others how to rescue the problem pieces. Loved all the projects. Thank you for sharing.
You are so welcome! I'm glad you found me sharing my struggles to be helpful - I feel that it's important for people to know that things don't always go to plan - it's just part of the creative process it seems. :)
Love these projects!
I'm so glad!! :) Thank you!
I love all your projects on this video, but the frame, key, with “You hold the key” was my favorite! You are so creative!❤️
Awe, thank you!! I'm glad you liked it!! :)

Thank you so much!
Love the painted silver trays.❤
Glad you liked them!! :) Thank you!
Everything is beautiful! My favorite is the frame that gave you such a hard time lol🌻🌻🌻🦋🦋🦋🙏
I was so glad to finally get that thing done! haha!! Thank you!! :)
FYI, when you are painting over an oxydized metal object, your white paint will turn yellow within months. Oxydation always finds a way to the surface.
Thanks for the tip!
Your pieces are so beautiful! The picture is so adorable and vintage looking make a beautiful gift for Valentine's Day❤❤❤
Thank you so much!
Such beautiful, thoughtful, and creative projects! Your patience seems endless.
Awe, thank you!! :) I'm glad you liked them!
Wow! Good job. All are lovely.
Thank you! 😊
You’ve gone and done it again! Love love love them all!
Yay! I'm so glad you liked them! Thank you!
Rachel we need to be neighbors. That way I can spend my allowance in your store, have a cup of coffee with you and pet Salty. Is Big Top food safe? I love doing deco podge but you really can't put food on my items. Everything project was outstanding. LOL, I was laughing so hard at that dang sign that was giving you fits. Been there, done that and can sympathize. My problem was when the hanger was at the other end, couldn't just gently lift the napkin pieces off. Had to wait for it to dry so they could be sanded off. (It was the 4th time I had sanded this piece. ugh) The little tray with the vine and butterfly caught my heart. Not much of a purple fan, but that went out the window when that piece was completed. You did an awesome job and please accept my condolences for all the grief the sign gave you. It turned out fantastic in the end. See ya on Fri! (We are expecting 6-12 inches then. Yuck)
Haha - well, I promise the next time I am planning a trip through Yakima I will let you know and maybe we can at least have a cup of coffee! :) And although Big Top is not "formally" food safe, once it has cured for the 30 days it is about as close as you can get without spending all the money to make it legally advertisable as food safe. I hope that makes sense. Glad you liked the projects - that butterfly tray really did turn out pretty cute!! :) Thank you!!
@@theeclecticcottagespokane It's a deal!

Rachel, it seems that lovely key piece gave you a hard time, but it is so lovely! My favorite! I do love the silver pieces, also and I wonder what type of hanger can be used for them? I am loving all these pieces you are pulling out and updating. It’s fun to see what comes out next in each video. Thanks for sharing your creations with us.
Awe - you are so welcome!! I enjoy it so much!! :) And I'm glad you liked them!! As for the hangers - I use a D-ring style hanger glued on with E6000. I try to put the hanger in a place where it is unobtrusive so if someone wanted to still use them as dishes they could, so I also attach a bit of jute to the D-ring to make them a little easier to hang. I hope that makes sense!
I love the way these projects turned out. Valentine & Spring vibes! 💕
Thank you! 😊
Love it all.

The picture of the key was my favorite
I'm glad you liked it! Thank you!
Eureka! I have been knocking myself out painting the backs of trays. But the silver is a finish, so I can leave them! I always watch your videos and always learn!
I love the look of the silver, and it just seemed like the right call to me. :) I am sure there are lots of purists out there that would insist that the backs need to be painted, too.....but I've never subscribed to the theory that every square inch of every project needs to be covered in paint. :)
Wow! Rebecca everything is so lovely! Love, love, love the picture frame with the key and roses! It is gorgeous! The silver pieces are so pretty, painting them was so right. Thank you for sharing such a lovely video! 🤗

Hi Rachel, I thrifted the same metal bowl as DIY#1. I like mine, but it is in need of a refresh. Think I will do a Spring color. Enjoyed the video. ❤
I'm glad you liked the video! Thank you!! :)
These are gorgeous!!!
Thank you!!
Beautiful work
Thank you very much!
I actually love a little sheen. I have trouble liking chalk paint, it looks so dry and flat.
Well, Big Top is definitely a good sealer for a little sheen. :)
I love all of your creations, especially upcycling faux silver trays, which I love for their Victorian look. I do have one question. What is the benefit of using the DIY liquid patina versus, ModPodge or Gesso?
I'm glad you liked them!! :) And I have never used Gesso, so I can't speak to that in particular, but I have used ModPodge, and while it is a great product and I still use it for certain applications - especially if I'm laying down something really thick like cardstock - I prefer the liquid patina for most things because it is thin, it is just tacky enough without being too sticky, and it dries to a beautiful clear finish with no streaks. :)
Love the silver plates! What do you use to hang the plates with??
I'm glad you liked them! Thank you!! And I use a "D-Ring" hanger that I adhere with E6000 glue. :)
❤❤❤
:)
Hi Rachael! I am loving all your lovely projects! I have a question….I’m looking for a wisteria transfer, and the only one I found is a water release one, which I’ve never done. Do you have any wisteria transfers or have a source I could find one? Thank you so much for any info.
I'm glad you liked them! :) And honestly I don't remember having seen any transfers with wisteria specifically . . . although I must say that a wisteria transfer would be lovely!! :)
Thank you for your kind response, Rachael!
❤😊
:)
How do you thin your dark wax please
I use a bit of mineral spirits. :)
