- On this installment of our 1980 911 SC build, the 3.0 flat six is going back together! We threw in new rings and bearings as well as a host of new parts to get it running like new!
After a few setbacks and some long days the guys got the motor in the car and running!

4:02 Thank you for showing your piston ring compressor. I was wondering if you could use this style as this would allow you to get the studs out for replacement without pulling the pins for the pistons. Looks like there is enough clearance. Again, wonderful job and thank you for sharing.
I did it myself about 5 years ago on 2.4 and 3.0. Actually it is not too hard if you have all the tool especially the bolt removal tool. The valve job I let the machine shop work on it. I used the motorcycle stand to drop the engine with custom build wood support sit on the motorcycle stand. But you have to follow the book exactly. My next project is on 2.0 914.
Nice foot work
Be good to see the next episode. It's been a while!
Where is the final episode? September 2019?
I have a 79 911 Porsche, do you know why when I try starting it, its just cranking with a lot of white smoke coming out? I’m pretty sure I need to clean the spark plugs out but I was wondering what you think? New starter, new battery, new spark plugs, 1 year old gas and oil. Any thoughts?
Did you guys use all steel head bolts on the engine rebuild? Thanks
Looks like it indeed, i don't see any delavar bolts in this build.
P.S i think i do actually on some of them ;)
Please don't run an engine with music. Nobody wants to hear the music.
