Yes, it's difficult to even find knitting needles without plastic. It was a relief and has made me search further for supplies to start my own kits. The blanket is gorgeous!

I've used wool and the gang a few times, I do love their approach to sustainability but still felt less cardboard could be used in terms of packaging. I've made some cotton projects which are beautiful and have been given as gifts. I then purchased 2 sweater kits for myself in merino and I hated them, I felt the tension was too loose so fibres escaped onto everything i brushed against and they both pilled like crazy when being worn. From now on, i will just be using cotton kits.
There's such a fine line between needle size and yarn, I agree. And if the pattern decides on the wrong side pils will appear very readily. That kind of experience has made me very wary of yarn that's not spun quite tight enough too. Happy knitting, Leila! :D
I bumped into wool and the gang website by accident and have been wondering about sustainability as i had only very recently found out that synthetic fabrics are basically all plastic (my entire life has been a lie), so ive been wanting to switch to wool . Your video answers a lot of my questions related to zero waste / sustainability. Thank you! I will be buying wool sweater kit from them soon
I do feel that knitting needs to align with sustainability as much as possible. The kits I introduced in my shop in Autumn last year are all made with natural fibres and packaged in recycled and recyclable materials too. We post to just the UK right now, but will open up the shipping in time. Happy knitting 🧶
