Bird beat Zeke Magic and Jordan in prime
And Drexler. People always leave that out....and Kareem with Magic
Isiah is such a good storyteller. Haven’t even finished this yet and it’s a great listen.
What about the part about the 2 biggest mortgage companies in the US are in Detroit ,you didn’t get it Marco Isaiah said it’s crazy
How can you say its a great listen and you haven't even 🏁 finish yet. 😭😭
@@royalfreshness815 tell him again RF
He could have watched him other shows and interviews like I have
Yeah, Isiah doesn't just crap on people with lies, manipulation, and propaganda like his OVERRATED adversary does!!!!
Zeke and Hakeem are the two guys who are acknowledged as all-time great players and still somehow underrated.
The word “underrated” seems to be used very easily in the NBA. He is in the Hall of Fame, multiple time Allstar, voted one of the top 50 NBA players to ever play the game, back to back NBA champ and Jordan said he believe Isiah is the 2nd best point guard to ever play next to Magic Johnson. That is an extremely high rating. I’m just wondering what else would anyone feels that he is missing. Hakeem’s resume is very similar to Isiah’s and he is extremely highly respected by NBA players of all generations plus Hakeem was voted MVP of the entire league and MVP of the Finals more than once. There really isn’t much higher of a rating to achieve in the NBA. Between the two, they checked almost all of the boxes in the sport.
@@parkside4623 That's why I said him and Dream are all-time great players but still don't get the credit they deserve. Zeke won 2 titles (and was a bad call away from a 3rd) while competing against Magic and Kareem, Jordan and a legendary Celtics team
@@parkside4623 amongst the casual NBA viewer base he’s underrated they tend to put many guys over him
I agree because after Magic Isiah is the 2nd best PG period all time and he should have been on that Dream Team no disrespect to Stockton but Isiah could get you buckets at will and he could play on ball defense and turn you over and Stockton wasn't that type of player but that doesn't take nothing away from his greatness.
@@phade2blaq and with all respect to his teammates, he wasn't exactly surrounded by stars but still went through Bird's Celtics, Magic's Lakers and Jordan's Bulls. That's ridiculous!
Isaiah Thomas is the only player to beat Magic Bird and Jordan in their Prime.. period.
Only difference is MJ played with no all stars. Once Scottie became an all star Detroit was done
@@damienhodges9761 played with Iceman
@@forzaacmilan36 Ice wasn’t a all star with the bulls.

Isiah
As a Detroiter I can't tell you how much Zeke meant to Detroit and what he did for us on and off the court. Gotta say thanks to our brother city Chicago for giving us the gift of Isiah!
Yeah because as a Chicago native, we rather have Mike over Isaiah any day! JS
And as a Detroiter we’re thankful we got Zeke over Mike🔥🔥 our chips hold more weight than the vast majority of championships in NBA history 🏆🏆🏆 and our legend still holds the record for most points in a quarter in NBA finals history, and he did it on one foot while the other was in excruciating pain.
@@Iraqi_Assyrian313 if you say so.
@@sonnicajones2963 that’s Zeke’s biggest issue and always has been. We love Mike waaay more than him. In fact, we don’t like Zeke at all. You almost never see him in Chi because Chi can’t stand him. He always resented that.
@@sonnicajones2963 Keep him we'll take Zeke anyday.
One of the greatest point guards of all time.
Zeke is incredible! Intelligent, humble, great storyteller and still competitive. Most importantly he’s a true leader
I became a Piston fan because of Isiah. Thank you Isiah for all the great years in Detroit. 80/90 decades we’re probably the best decades in the nba.
Very American.
80/90>golden age
@@kb5509 very young😆
One of most misunderstood and underrated person in sports💯
Gotta love how isiah gave DRose his flowers. DRose must feel incredible getting such a compliment from the legend of Chicago himself.
D Rose a fan of Jordan
Rose was too young for the Pistons-Bulls rivalry. I'm sure he loves Jordan but he respects Isiah.
@@mike.cdn7212 Naw its a chicago thing. most of us dont like isiah. granted hes one of the best pgs to do it but we know he was an asshole. D rose just a few years younger then me but we heard so many stories and watched them old school hardwood classics
@@kencarthen1642 if Zeek is an asshole, what is Jordan???
All I ever hear from Zeek’s mouth is love for the city of Chicago.
What are you listening too???
@Ken Carthen speak for yourself, everyone I know in Chicago liked Isiah more than Jordan
ZEKE got me in tears laughing talking about Larry Bird
Isaiah is teaching us a valuable lesson about forgiveness, offense, and communication even with those who have offended us. Take notes family, take notes.
Isiah
Cap hes lying and playing victim at 61
@@tellitlikeitisfresh6541 They asked him about it... And from other interviews he did, Mike and Zekes family had a closer relationship than most of us ever knew. So I can see his perspective that he may have been taken aback by his comments. Competitors or not, outside the sphere of sports they rocked on a different level from Zekes POV. I would love to see them reconcile and just like I would love to see MJ and Charles reconcile.
@@TL2354 True. I keep misspelling his name when I type and I shouldn't because many people misspell my name Sean.
ISIAH THOMAS IS THE MOST OR SECOND-MOST DISRESPECTED NBA PLAYER AND MAYBE AMERICAN ATHLETES EVER, HE SHOULD BE TOP 10 AND HERE'S WHY:
Without having another megastar that could get 25-30 on a contending team (Mark Aguirre was balling in Dallas but they went no where but the conf finals once out of 8 seasons), he led the Pistons to 3 straight finals and 2 straight championships in the 80s in an era where no flukes happened- you had to be exceptionally great to make the finals and sometimes even the Conference Finals, even the runners up for the league and conferences are historic footnotes ('80/82 Sixers, '86 Rockets, '88 Mavs)....
*If it wasn't for one of the smallest mistakes by a team in league history ('87 Conf Finals, Game 5), the Pistons would've made 4 consecutive finals!!!!
*Isiah had- maybe- the greatest individual performance in Finals history- injured with a very critical basketball injury, he scored 41 and 25 of those were in the 3rd qtr IN THE FINALS AND ON THE ROAD AGAINST A SUPERTEAM-DYNASTY.... that game was decided by an end-of-game, ill-advised and late whistle that clearly shows Laimbeer making no contact with Kareem, and LA won by 1 point- had it not been for that call, that would've been the closeout game for that series and the Pistons would be a historical 3-peat dynasty
*No one can say what Isiah has done in 1988, and that is legitimately beat 3 top 10-35 Hall of Famers while still at current MVP-level calibers of play.... if jordan truly is your goat, then he beat THE GOAT on a good and solid team, he beat Larry Bird, then he beat Magic (and Kareem in his second to last year, and lets not forget James Worthy was the 1988 Finals MVP)
*Folks always prop up jordan for playing in the 90s when the 90s were softened and toned down from the 70s and 80s, but Isiah worked his way through ranks all throughout the 80s where dynasties and superteams existed- after all the smash-mouth contact in the 70s and 80s from other teams, the league instituted the Flagrant Foul in 1990 after jordan went public to complain about not being able to beat the Pistons bcus of their style of playing- the Lakers, Celtics, and Sixers all have several highlights of beating up other teams, getting beat up, and fist-fights that do not include the 80s Pistons.... so for Isiah to claim his stake in this era and to be undersized when basketball was still dominated by the big man and big players (and the 3pt line was a negligent factor for most of the decade), yeah I'm giving Isiah his RECOGNITION bcus no little man except Jerry West and AI was able to reach such heights- even in today's game (Kyrie can ball out his mind, can't get to the Conf Finals without LeBron and even with stacked teams, and Curry was finally exposed in the 2019 Finals and the Warriors were still a superteam without KD)
Too bad he suffered 3 major injuries that shortened his career, too bad his team was prematurely broken up, too bad his teammates went through injuries and so many personal problems, and TOO BAD THE LEAGUE CHANGED RULES IN ORDER TO MARKET ONE PLAYER AND PLEASE HIM BY PUTTING A N1PP!_E IN HIS MOUTH!!!!
Thank God it’s a part 2 coming !! This was 🔥 my all time favorite player and I was born in 93
"DO YOU WANT TO COME TO INDIANA OR NOT?" 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
Love Isiah Thomas.. one of my role models.. thank you Zeke 🙏🏾
*The Legend Isiah "Lord" Thomas, because so many people disliked his Pistons playing style, he gets forgotten about, but REAL HOOPS FANS KNOW "Zeke" WAS HIM, DEADLY HANDLE, TOUGHNESS AND A WINNER, Back to back 89-90* 🏆🏆
He’s a true testament to perseverance. Lost many times against the Celtics, lost against the Lakers, and then was still able to keep the same core intact while not having the flashy superstar putting up huge numbers.
I remember many games where their leading scorers for the game would barely have double figures but there would be like 7 of them
@@eddieG667 *I'll never forget those Late 80s Pistons Teams, Isiah Thomas, Joe Dumars, Vinny "The Microwave" Johnson, Bill Laimbeer, Dennis Rodman (guarding everybody 1-5) CAUSING HAVOC, Spider 🕷️ John Salley, and Mark Aguirre, TOUGH AS NAILS!* 🔨
@@AMart870 yup. People forget how well they would play the intricacies of defense -- especially HELP defense. Lots of underrated players who can hit clutch shots down the stretch too.
People like to make similarities to the Knicks, but the Knicks didn't have any go-to guy for offense nor did they have someone who can go off like Isiah, Vinnie, or even Dantley (and later Aguirre). Joe Dumars always had this offense as well.
Nah, they aint forget. They're just haters.
Real hoop fans nah, everybody hated Detroit city till this day bro , besides you and a few others , we get no respect from no leagues football, baseball ,basketball , no government whatever
This has to be the best Zeke interview so far. He's street savvy and a brilliant basketball player and businessman..💎💎💎💎
Zeke is a REAL ONE. Always been a fan, especially being from Gary,IN, right next door. One of THE BEST. PEACE ZEKE
Isiah needs a movie about his life man. So many things I didn’t know and such a cool story. Another banger of an episode can’t wait for Pt. 2!
He had a made for TV movie. You might be able to find out there on the net.
What’s great about his interview is that he is not doing it for books deal or some types of promotions. I like this guy, and yes a movie about his life would be nice.
A Mother's Courage. Movie about his mother. It came out in 89
When Zeke was explaining Rodman’s study of the rotation of the ball… Stak just looked in the camera like, “Wtf…” 😂
Chicago Icon and basketball legend. My man Zeke 💯
Plus Isaiah has always had that great smile and he just warms up the room when he walks in and smiles
One of the best basketball minds in NBA history.🏀💯
Yes definitely. I've noticed that he's brilliant.
*I've always known that Zeke was highly intelligent, but I've never heard him break down so many sectors of business, and life in general with depth*
Barnes and Jackson make a great team. Both hotheaded in real life but brilliant at their jobs. Zeke needs to do his own last dance style documentary- really interesting educated brother.
Barnes & Jackson are hot heads but they better stay kool ☮️ 😘
They had the bad boys 30 for 30 .
This might be the only person who has a two part interview so far.
Facts
Isiah is that guy
IT is an OG original gentleman 💪🏾🙏🏾💪🏾🙏🏾. Man is a legend could not think any more of him after watching this. The way he spoke of his bro graduating was pure truth. Prayers up my brother 💪🏾💪🏾🙏🏾🙏🏾
Zeke getting a called about Jak is crazy lmao
Isiah is one of my all time favorite players and athletes ever.
Zeke was cold 🥶 blooded on the court and I respect him 💯💯
Isiah Thomas always makes a great interview. He's a really good storyteller. As a big D-Rose fan, I was very touched that Isiah said they are very proud of him. He was special. Youngest ever MVP. So fun to watch. Would have been an all time best if it wasn't for the injuries.
Drose story is crazy. Hometown kid and then get to play for his city and win mvp. Nuts
🤔 Fun fact : Isiah Thomas and the Bad Boy Detroit Pistons have a winning record in the playoffs against Bird, Magic and yes... Michael Jordan! 🤯
It's just facts folks. 👍
All while their leading scorer averaged like 18 points a game with 6 of them in double figures. That’s crazy balance
We know why Jordan don't like him.
Waow put that on his grave😂
He has winning record against Boston, but Bird didn't play 89 season
@@hootie297 By 89 the injuries caught up and Bird was done by this point. These teams battled ferociously before Jordan entered the leauge. They Kareem, Dr.J, Bird so many others punched and aged themselves out. It wss not until after the wreckage of the 80s Jordan began to win. Note: Jordan won in the 90s against a new generation. He struggled against the legends.
The Pistons are my all time favorite team. Both the Zeke era and the Ben Wallace/Chauncey Billups eras.
Mine too. Detroit born and raised.
"First press second press third press and the first press is the best press" Zeke got bars, sounding like biggie 😂😂😂
Isiah Thomas, hands down one of my favourite all time Point Guards
Had to watch him too understand he’s the truth
@@detroitsmithg5603 Facts!
Isiah looks like a preacher smile all the time … but my guy was evil on that court … goat Fa real
The Larry Bird story is hilarious!! 🤣😂🤣
Zeke is a respected legend, see how many players asked him to walk them into HoF. He speak nice, he is class but people think that because he played with the bad boys he is bad as well? Hell wrong. The dude had an ankle injury but still willed his team in a legendary victory, the dude is a legend, a standard of a great point guard. Love the dude, should have been the real dream team PG if not for that politics. Love Zeke.
For my understanding Drexler would been out instead of Stockton
This is just a jewel, Zeke put history down on a level we gonna look at for decades to come.
Isiah Thomas will always be my favorite player of all time. He's so real and transparent. He loves his people and he's as smart as they come!
We love Isaiah Thomas so much in Detroit. Shiidd my brother named his son after him. My best ball player all time 💯
Isaiah is a real one he wasn’t lying
I understand Zeke did many troublesome things during his time in and outside of the nba but he is willing to break bread with those he had issues with in the past. You gotta respect that
He always has a smile on his face while talking. Inspiration, joy for life.
I could listen to Zeke all day. Wish he was on regularly. He would add so much to any show or discussion.
Isiah one of the nicest , most calm , generous , smart , likable guys while also being the most hated guy in the history of basketball
I just love hearing stories like these from the real OGs....no matter how I love Jordan, Mr. Thomas is spitting facts...
That was one of the best ATS episodes. Love Zeke. Best story teller. I've heard him speak plenty of times. never knew his mom worked for Fred Hampton. he is right the pistons team shaped the modern nba
Isiah "Zeke" Thomas in the building!
I love Zeke man, that’s it💯💯
I tell you. This interview has made me respect Isaiah Thomas to the utmost.
RESPECT ZEK✊🏾
“I met the criteria to be selected, but I wasn’t” that always kills me ☠️☠️☠️
My grandma loved her some Isiah Thomas ! I wish she was here to see him now. Good interview guys much love!
My UUVL beloved brother Lord Zeke....spitting them real Chicago tales. We n da building Lord
ZEKE IS SIMPLY ONE OF THE UNDISPUTED PG 🐐's
This podcast is exactly why I love basketball. Amazing stories from a bonafide killer on the court.
Isiah def on his square. Respect for him being so straight forward talking about status, race, and nationality
You picked that up too huh brother?
Will always listen to Zeke interviews, love his mentality and knowledge.
I love his interviews he’s the cool ass og and he’s funny as hell and has a great sense of humor and easy to talk to,
33:44 mark.
This is an example of why in Detroit and the surrounding area…matter of fact EVERYWHERE in Michigan disrespect for Isiah can’t and won’t be tolerated. Even during his hard times as an executive in the CBA and in NY as a Coach and GM and also as a Coach for the Pacers….we rocked with and defended him even from those in his hometown of Chicago who shunned him for Jordan.
Isiah will ALWAYS be our guy for ever and ever and is the sole reason that to this day Jordan or his shoes still aren’t universally embraced like he and his brand is everywhere else.
💯💯💯

I made a comment yesterday, however I have to say after watching it again. Isiah Thomas is truly remarkable. Mad respect for the Mr. Thomas. This is coming from a 110% Jordan fan-atic.
Isiah is a solid dude, old school to the core.

This is an awesome interview! Deeeetroit Basketball! Love Zeke! He’s a real one.
unlike any of the other big stars of the 90’s starting to realize that Zeke has so much rich experience in politics and history .
As a Celtics fan Isiah is basketball royalty.
Left this interview with so much more respect and admiration for Zeke and I was already a fan
Detroit we were lucky to have him. Changed the franchise, brought a winning mentality that lasted well after he retired. Much respect
So every championship should have his champagne on deck...
Another legendary interview Matt and Stak glad there will be a part 2!!!!
Zeke! You was born in Chicago but you always will represent Detroit. All love can't wait for part 2
Best. Guest. Ever.
The fact that they got 2 parts with Zeke Thomas is well deserved and earned once again I met him a few weeks ago and I gave him his flowers 💐 and let him know that the real ones fuck with you I told him the only signing I had a problem with was Jerome James other than that. You drafted very well and made some great trades. You really tried to do a lot for the Knicks and the liberty 🗽 as well with bringing Bill to coach, and it's damn shame he isn't coaching in the NBA. I'm glad people are finally seeing Jordan the person and not Jordan the player and trust I'm a Jordan fan die hard, but he was an asshole as a person you seen it in the last dance and I'm glad every podcast is speaking on how Isiah Zeke Thomas deserved to be on Dream Team 1 yea Magic may have not spoken up and chuck Daly may have not spoken up but Jordan could have easily said I'm not being on Dream Team if Zeke Thomas isn't on I'm pretty sure everyone would have said okay yea he could be on. Like Scottie Pippen thinks someone cares about his opinion. Zeke was a way better player than you were you just mad because the media don't give you the credit as being on the same level with Michael Jordan your not soon as Jordan left you only made it to the 2nd round and before he came back you was on the verve of missing the playoffs
Feel chest to chest with y’all rn. Just realized I’m how fast we’re growing together. Quik to Zeke. Whatever is next is going to hit different 😅
Matt and Jack showing reverence to the Man. When he was breaking down his CBD/THC products moving from Columbia they was sitting straight up, soaking up every word. I'm thinking damn, this here big steppin for real.
This is such a beautiful interview I'm sitting on my balcony looking at the water probably one of the most best interviews I heard
Even though I'm not a Chicagoan, I respect Zeke for leaving home and playing with the Indiana Hoosiers and respect Q Rich more for staying home and played for DePaul (the school Isiah wanted to go to).
DePaul tried to buy Isiah too. His Mom desperately needed the money but said no. Sent him with Bobby Knight
DePaul just made the Final Four and his best friend Mark Aguirre just finished his freshman year. He definitely wanted to go there
OH WOW! That makes perfect sense then. Now I remember he mentioned that his mom definitely said no on the Pivot podcast interview despite the living conditions.
My absolute favorite player. Man would love to meet Isiah.
Same here! I have been saying this for years!
Great episode! Didn’t know IT was into THC/CBD/Hemp like THAT!
One correction (to S-Jax) KG not from Chicago he’s from South Carolina and played his whole life there until senior year of HS. He was huge in Chi his senior year with Ronnie Fields at Farragut, but he can’t count as “from chi town” when he moved there right before senior year of HS.
Also best Celtics team was 85-86 to 86-87 but Isiah and Pistons beating them when they were all MVP is true/fire!
Chi town still has a lot of hoopers! Mom and her side of Fam from Chi and dad from Indiana. Per capita Indiana has great hoopers too (Larry Bird & Big AO both of top5-15 GOAT, George McGinnis, Shawn Kemp, Zach Randolph, Mike Conley, Big Dog Glen Robinson, Darius Garland, Desmond Bane, Gordon Hayward, Eric Gordon, Greg Oden, George Hill, Mike Woodson, Gary Harris, Van Arsdale Twins, Calbert Cheney, Scott Skiles, Jaden Ivey, Jeff Teague, Junior Bridgman, Bonzi Wells, Dick Barnet, Brad Miller, Courtney Lee, Clyde Lovellette etc etc
Among hundreds of interviews I've seen from NBA contributors, this 2-part footage has easily become my favorite, especially in terms of gravity and reality. Thank you Mr. Zeke, you are my favorite all-timer. 🎩
Great interview 👏🏾 we love Zeke here in Detroit 🙏🏾
