LOL... one of the best reviews I have ever seen! HIlarious! Am picking up one of these this week in Australia. The RAV4 argument was thrown out the window here in Austrlaia... Over 12 months wait. Walked into a HAVAL dealer last week and they had a brand new one on the lot. Test drove it and bought it on spot.
I bought one recently, HEV too. Everything you say is correct. My consumption is 6.5l/100km. Suspension and wheels could be a lot better. But value for money is 10/10.
It’s annoying how many reviewers don’t know how to use shortcuts and favourites on their steering wheel to access the most common features without going through multiple screens at all . Swipe down on screen and all features are right there or press favourites button on wheel fir your top 3
We tested the Hybrid just as it was made available and the drive was just brilliant. So much so that my wife decided to buy it right there so we had almost the first hybrid in the WC. I am continuously surprised by how composed the drive is, how easy it is to live with and how comfortable it is. And then also - the space. Must admit, even with sporty driving I really don’t feel any body roll issues, in fact I find the car brilliantly composed. Avg consumption after 3 weeks is about 6.5l/100km which is good. Sometimes I can drive all the way to our local mall (Table Bay) without the ICE kicking in which sometimes just feels freaky 😂 We’ve done 2 longer trips up the R27 and a couple of times I’ve found - at 100km/h following a vehicle - that we’re in full electric mode. Consumption on longer trips at avg 130km/h was around 7.5l/100 which is good also. And lastly - the power of the thing is quite astounding. Put foot down and she just leaps forward. There is no lack of power. So the car is brilliant, but… No dealership at the moment can service the car… apparently only ready by end of November. Can’t even fit the towbar at the moment as some special equipment is apparently needed and none available just yet. Which we did NOT know at the start. But Thorpe indicated if something should go amiss then they’ll provide a full replacement vehicle in the interim. So really - apart from vehicles going on sale before the dealers can actually handle it - full thumbs up for the car though.
I wish the highway consumption was lower though. Although the in town consumption is amazing. A diesel hybrid would've been a match made in heaven. You get great fuel consumption in the city and great consumption on the highway. My Mercedes E350 Bluetec, which is a V6 turbo diesel with 195kw and 620nm averages 5.2 l/100kms on the highway (from Joburg to George on one tank of diesel). What's amazing is that with 104,000kms on the clock, it still consumes so little. The in town consumption is much higher though at 9 to 10 l/100 kms.
Hopefully it holds up as good in the long term, I'm more infatuated by the haval gt and its sporty drive. Please update after few months or when you encounter a problem or not
I agree. In urban scenario it is great. Highway combined with urban you will see 6l/100km I will upload a test I have done on my channel but just a summary as people do not watch the whole thing😅
Great review! The problem with Haval fuel consumption isn't the engine themselves, but the tuning thereof. A well respected tuning company in Pretoria proved that when properly tuned the H6C for example would use about 3l/100km less fuel if not less, plus have more KW available.
Nice, what about long distance highway cruising where you only have the 1.5 Turbo as a power source. Is it Ok for hills and overtaking. What is the fuel consumption under those conditions
@ramynabill4155 - not a thing, daily runner to drop and collect kids, longer trips to go visit family etc. Running smoothly. Everything inside still solid and in excellent nick. Only issues we had were self made - twice we forgot to switch the car off zzwhen parked in garage and then got to car next morning with battery completely drained. Normal jump on normal lead acid then does the trick.
For me black wheels look like spare wheels and they look after market and cheap. They should've rather done silver wheels. The normal ones look better to me.
Hyundai Creta, complete shit! Firstly, it is terrible, and secondly, the engine with bullies is especially 2L, and this also began to appear on 1.6 liters. I worked in the service of this manufacturer and I know firsthand
@@MMasisi I think a lack of 4WD in the H6 HEV is a huge letdown, especially the fact that it has 530Nm of torque. I think that’s too much torque being sent to only the front wheels.
My wish is haval south Africa can make it parts to be available especially when you are involved incident panelbaters battle a lot its been two months without car

Yikes, R670k for a Haval is just rude! I honestly wouldn't do it for a new Haval, because the reality remains that this car will be worth substantially less in 12 months time.
@@maneystellenboom7225 Well so far their resale value seems excellent because their sales are excellent. There's some used ones selling for the same price as new ones. Also, it is far far cheaper than anything else it competes with. A decently specced top of the range Tiguan will cost close to a million. So this is a bargain for all you get.
As always your videos are fab. Appreciate your work. But I have confusion if you want to choose between Rav4 HV GXL AWD Auto CVT which is now $50453 (Australian Dollar) and Haval H6 Ultra hybrid which is $46103 then which one would you go for. I am getting both the cars in next week for the above mentioned price, so availability is not the issue for me. I am really confused and unable to make the decision. After sale market of haval is not so good as compared to Rav4. And now they have raised the price of rav4 so I am not sure is it worth to buy Rav4 or haval at this time now. Is this something you can please guide on. By any chance if you can please reply little early it would be really appreciated.

Yeah I got it from Canberra dealer, they should be able to match Superb car dude, honestly for a family it ticks all 3 boxes: 1. Realiability (it has 7 years of warranty, you cannot go wrong) 2. Fuel economy (Hybrid - tech is different to toyota, better imho, where it goes full electric at higher speeds) 3. Luxury - cant emphasize this enough, youre buying the best money has to offer, features in this car would cost you $200k+ in a european or jap car manufacturer All 3 categories (+ price) are superior to the rav4, so I would not hesitate. I overthought the decision alot and almost purchased a $80k cx9 azami, but now ive got almost $40k to spare and a car just as good :)

Only thing haval needs is a sound system with better bass options or add a sub woofer to it
