"Don't look at him, he's dead, I'm here!" So powerful. I know soap operas tend to get a bad rep in the world of television, but Betty White elevates what could otherwise have been an ordinary storyline into something much greater.
Stephanie's mom deserves to be alone, he was a a big a monster as her father. Eric is a great husband for Stephie, he rocked in this scene. Betty White plays her role here very well in this scene. I thought for a second Ann was going to tell everyone a St Olaf story, that would have been real torture. :)
First time watching this through for the first time.. my mom and grandmother said this arc was really powerful but damn.. such great acting all around. Susan especially went off; you could feel Stephanie's pain all the way, and when Eric steps up it gets epic. Who knew Betty could play someone so awful.. she did it masterfully.
This is what almost 80 yrs of Acting, in various genres including being called "The Queen of Game Shows" will result to.... BETTY WHITE IS AN ICON!!! POWERFUL PERFORMANCES BY HER & JOHN McCOOK!!! #BRAVO
God, Eric is magnificent here. I finally get why she loves him the way she does: for the person he is right here. Some of us wd've given anything for that.
I love this eric standing up for Stephanie but Ann is showing signs of guilt by keeping pam basically hostage and then pretending like nothing happening and justifying her actions
I love susan flanery...she is without doubt the best actress in bold and beautiful....thks so much for posting...they don't show this in the Uk and i've missed about 7yrs worth....but i'm slowly catching up with the bits and peices u've posted ...thk u loads
I did not see this episode when it aired but I'm sure my mother did. This episode is like a mirror to my young life and again the few years before she died in 2020.
Mallory Lauve : I was abused from my bastard abusive father mom and everyone didn't care he was abusing me 15 years... He's in hell paying for what he did to me.. He and my family didn't want me... When you know Betty White from Golden Girls and then see her in this role, it's a complete 180. Love Betty, may she RIP, but I couldn't stand Ann Douglas when she first appeared on B&B
Stephanie's story, pre-Eric, is mine as well. I am the product of a mother who lived in her OWN reality, could NOT face the true consequences of her choices and, who was DETERMINED....not to allow my father making a fool of her, to dictate her subsequent choices. She....FAILED!! Met a man when I was 9 y.o.,(her supervisor), had her "planned" offspring with him and, IGNORED the fact that he severely beat his young son quite frequently and subsequently RAPED me repeatedly. Unlike Stephanie though, I could NOT confront my mother because, she was financially responsible for me until I was close to 1/2-a-century old. In addition to living with the scars of RAPE, I suffered a Traumatic Brain Injury because of my mother's naivete and carelessness, when I was an infant. Unlike Ann Douglas(eventually)though, my mother NEVER apologized for ANYTHING, and she didn't even know how to cope with Stage IV Stomach Cancer, when it hit her. She never fought, and all the prayers that were said by others, having faith in her recovery, she did NOT appreciate. All because SHE....had NO CONTROL over her condition.
No Stephanie was a rock Stephanie was loyalty dedicated devoted to her man and her children she had a lot of integrity and when she seen someone like Brooks no caliber she was not having it and I'm not mad at her I wish she was still on that show because it don't went down the toilet that show definitely needs a strong matriarch figure on there and it's not sea Hag Brooke
@@lywnnjohnson6130 I agree, Susanne Flannery was an amazing actress and i miss her. The show isn't the same without her. Stephanie was all the things you said, but she was also unforgiving and judgemental. And though, she was a devoted mother and wife, she was cold and that's why Eric left her for Brooke.
If this had been a Spanish soap opera, Stephanie would have given her a ringing slap across the face, which she more than deserved. “Eres una cualquiera!!” 👋

T T They’re the appropriate age difference, nearly 20 years. Susan Flannery (Stephanie) fought cancer as well as chronic back problems in the late 90’s and early 00’s. It changed her appearance a lot. But her acting and presence is superb as always.

a rare moment where Eric was truly THERE for Stephanie, his WIFE, his ULTIMATE true love.
Betty White in something dramatic is so different. What an actress. 😊
Amazing acting! RIP Betty White ❤
My GOD SUCH a POWERFUL SCENE!!!!! Betty, Susan and John are just STELLAR PERFORMERS! The best there can be!
Eric rocked in this scene, showed how much he loves Stephanie
***** I agree Eric sure did told her off. I remember this storyline.
Wow! First time I have seen Eric stick up for Stephanie and speak so amazingly of her.
I like when Stephanie said don’t look at him he’s dead.
That wind where Eric had said the next time we hear of you and will no doubt be Pamela telling us you're gone was freaking epic
EXACTLY
Eric went gangta on Stephaine's mom. I loved it.
Betty White played that part so good!
bjnboy , she’s a great actress.
Absolutely, lord love her. Betty White is a breed apart. She does a fantastic job in this, her first soap role; she is always a fantastic actress.

Betty White with Susan Flannery wow 😳😳😭😭🎯🎯💔💔... Magnificent! Absolutely Magnificent! #RIPBETTY
Pamela has become her own person since Anne passed away.
Natalie's Channel exactly
@@LadyPooh0126 : I am still so saddened by Pam and Steven Logan's relationship not working out, because Stephanie meddled.
Great acting all around
This the reason why i love stephanie she never backs down from anything not even the hurt her father inflicted and her mother neglected her

I can only imagine the tears that were shed on set that day when this was filmed. Powerful performances by all!
Damn, Betty White being dramatic. This tore my soul out. An AMAZING actress.
Wow, what an actress Betty White is!
Eric...Wow. That's all.
These were great scenes
Sadly people like Stephenie mother do exist it's sickening that a parent refuses to protect their own child

I'm so sorry to hear that. I hope you found peace and happiness
at first i thought the reason why stephanie mother didn't stop the abuse was beacuse she was abused as well
Now that's a husband being a husband
Explains why Stephanie became a bully and treated Brooke rotten for all those years. Goes to show that no one is born bad, they become bad.

You would think she might have had some sympathy for Brooke given her life wasn't exactly a walk in the park either.
This was achingly heartbreaking...
They looked more like sisters then mother and daughter lol

the most powerful scene, when’s she’s sitting there in the silence realizing what Stephanie said
Poor pammy
this one betty white's charaters that i truly do not like
Was that Vanessa Williams singing part of "The Prayer" from 5:15 to 5:41?
I've never heard vanessa hit those notes
Betty was Queen of Comedy and she nailed drama just as well.......I miss Susan from B&B ...and I miss Betty period.

ROSE LIVES ON!!!!!!!!! lmao
Isn't this a bit of a stretch .. Betty white a Stephine mother..XD
+MrCraigblaze No. Betty White is almost 20 years older than Susan Flannery and is perfectly cast as Stephanie's mother in both age and talent.
Rhaegar Targaryen
Both iconic women...XD
Betty white was 84 when she played this role
John Cook (Eric) & Ronn Moss (Ridge) are only 8 years apart in age. Now that’s a stretch🤣.
@@wendydawson697 lol yeah absolutely thanks for pointing this one out !
