Love your perspective on not giving presents for the sake of it! I think more people need to hear it - I can definitely relate to this! Glad you had a lovely Christmas xx
Thank you! I think some people misunderstand me but it’s not about not wanting to gift or receive gifts.. it’s the forced feeling of Christmas gifting. If I see something that makes me think of someone, I’ll get it for them.. why wait til Christmas then HAVE to find something
@@MissBudgetBeauty Exactly! You end up buying presents that the person may not even like just to say you’ve bought them something, which is a waste of money for both of you!
What they told you about sheet mask isn’t true at all.
We never usually do gifts for ourselves but we bought a Switch this Christmas, got Mariokart and Mario Wonder, my husband is going to get the 2 Zelda games he hasn't played too. Sometimes you just need a bit of gaming to take you out of the world for a little while.
Thank you for sharing ❤
We went away this year from 29th Dec to 1sr Jan to the Cotswolds which was a wonderful way to soend that 'twixmas' period. Was perfect xx
That sounds amazing!
We stopped buying Christmas presents two years ago. We only buy for children. It certainly makes life easier and cheaper!
Not opened any presents don’t feel like it as my beautiful 5 yr old grandson is in hospital on a ventilator & it’s breaking my heart but thank god I can watch you & believe it or not it’s nice to see others enjoying the festive season & seeing what you received for Christmas my time will come but not just yet. x
Sending my love and prayers to you my lovely xxx
Oh I’m so sorry!!! I can’t even imagine how awful that feels. I hope he gets better xxx
Totally agree about gift giving! And with the forced-gift giving for adults…most adults will buy something for themselves if they want it that badly so it makes it so much pressure to choose something they will love.
I only swap gifts with two friends. My birthday is 10 days away from Christmas so gifts are combined, which is great. One friend and I bought each other Holland & Barrett advent calendars and a 2024 year calendar. I also got a big cake/choccy selection from Bettys of Harrogate from the other friend and I sent her the same. Knowing what we all like really takes the stress away.
Also we now only buy for our kids/bonus kids (partners), grandchildren & parents. It's all about family for me. Time with my family.
100 % with you on the gift buying. I buy for my own children, nephews and nieces. My husband gets a small gift from ‘the children’ and I give my mum and dad a small gift. Thats it.
Birthdays are different and everyone gets a gift but it feels less forced compared to xmas
I agree love my switch this year there was genuinely nothing I needed or wanted but I want to finally pass my driving test so my family kindly gave me cash towards more lessons and my test finally 🤞👏🎉
Good luck hope you pass soon 😊
Skincare is honestly the one thing I will happily pay for when I know it works. Not only does it improve my skin, it improves my confidence and my mood. That’s worth everything to me
Exactly that! I’ve been using skin and me and I feel like I can’t justify both but if I do love love love the khiels and the whole experience is very luxury
I’m an Elemis girl through and through, its the one brand I have always been able to rely on with my often problematic skin. Unfortunately, it’s far from budget friendly. But I will always justify it even if I have to ask for something as a gift, or split payments because the difference to my quality of life is genuinely that significant. And luckily they do super sizes once or twice a year that last me a good 6-9 months
My mum died just over a year ago so this Christmas was always going to be hard. I also caught Covid for the first time ever which knocked me for six over Christmas. I am still suffering with it. Plus part of my landing ceiling collapsed. It hasn't been the best Christmas but it could have been much worse.
I hope you like Hogwarts game. I picked up Kona Brume which I wont be playing for a bit as really obsessed with Palia. That was nice of Ella. Which switch games dod she get??
Gucchi flora is my youngest daughters sig scent, it's gorgeous. I got 4 ps games I'd been after from my kids this year & my youngest gave me a beautiful cake stand, something I've longed for for years.
I am going travelling and have started a fitness journey so all I asked for was a suitcase and a lifting belt/gloves. I think it was this year where we realised there's no point in spending beyond our means just because it's Christmas. I normally spend so much at Christmas but this year with my trip coming up and not having as much to spend, I bought a little thing I knew people needed/wanted and everyone was understanding and didn't care.
I have two younger brothers and me and the older brother told our youngest brother not to buy us anything because he can't afford it as a uni student. The older brother did treat me for Christmas this year because he wanted to and F1 is a joint love of ours and bought me an experience day to Silverstone that we are doing together. I felt bad because I am so excited but felt I had to downplay my reaction to not hurt the youngest brother. When we talked it out, the youngest brother told me not to feel guilty and enjoy it and that he was grateful for us understanding his financial situation.
I'm with you on the presents. Some gifts I feel are given because you feel obliged to and its a waste of money and stuff. We buy for our children, neices and parents. We try to buy what we know will be used/ eaten/ drunk.
I got my granny and granda the books about them and I’m so happy I had it. I lost my dad last year and even in planning the funeral I realised there was so little I didn’t know about him 😞 I always planned to ask him but his illness meant he couldn’t speak for the last 3 months of his life so I wasn’t able to. What I wouldn’t give to hear his life story. And sorry that was an unexpected turn to my story lol xx
I feel the same about my dad. We were close, I’m more like him than anyone else according to my gran and his siblings.. But when we lost him suddenly in 2010, I realised how little I really knew. Definitely wish I’d had one of those books for him
I got pj.slipers all butter biscuits salted caramel
Fabulous
I love that Gucci perfume. Waitin for good offer. lol
My daughter got pj. Gluten free foods
Fab presents. I couldn’t wait any longer for hogwarts to come out on the switch so bought a Xbox oops it’s an amazing game I’m at 98% now then going to start it has a different house
Hahahahahahaa that is so something I would do 😂
