That part (which they added to the original song) is called Entry Of The Gladiators and was written in 1897. The original version by Leo Sayer didn't have that.
The keyboardist, Skip Konte, played on with the band 'Blues Image', known for the song 'RIDE CATAIN RIDE". He did the makeup thing long before KISS...lol
This song came out when I was 10 years old. I loved it, and still do. You are the first I've seen react to it. The studio version is a little different.
Carnivals always had a very dark undertone, the human side shows, gambling, etc etc but during the day it was all rides, games, cotton candy and balloons
For those who haven't heard their "Hard Labor" album from 1974-the album version is much better due to the ambience of the track-which this song is taken from is one of their best. It also includes Play Something Sweet and Just As I'm Sitting Here.
Big fan of them back in the day, dug sooo many.of their songs tho I don't care for this. Tho 3 great singers and they will always be one of my favorite bands.
Check out The Guess Who. American Woman, These Eyes. Anything from The Guess Who is great. Please give em' listen. I promise you'll like em'. Another great one by them is Share The Land.

It is...like a carousel...the song is about a relationship that's like a carnival ride
love this song with amazing Chuck Negron on lead vocals
That was Corey Wells “singing” the step right up part.
Have not heard this song for ages! Memories! Always liked Cory Wells. ❤😊

Gosh, I haven’t heard this since I was little. Love it.
Leo Sayer had recorded a few bangers himself. One of his biggest hits was 'You Make Me Feel Like Dancing.' I think it would put a smile on your face.
I think he's done it. I'm not positive but pretty I remember it. I love that song.
The circus music is called Entrance of the Gladiators.
I forgot about this song. When this was on the radio I think it was a little slower. They seem to be playing it a little fast here. I always liked it.
One of favorites of my youth...maybe like 5th grade
I'd listen to the studio version as well

Hey Ace, I love this song! Thank you for reacting to it!
❤😂❤ I believe this is Skip Konte on keyboards! Jimmy Greenspoon their usual keyboardist was away from the band dealing with drug issues. I think...😮
This was part of a long string of Three Dog Night hit songs.
LEO Sayer does a great version of this too.
Love this one! I got into the best! ❤ I was a teenager, what can I say. Listen to the original.
Baby....help me escape....

Love the Guess Who! He definitely needs to react to them.
