- Footage of Doha circa 1968. Home movie footage taken by my father whilst working in Doha for World Wide Helicopters during the 1960s. See Qatar as you have never seen it, before the development of later years changed this town. Early footage of the Souk, town centre, the old airport and the Shell Lodge (later the Falcon Club).
yes the landing is Beirut. I seem to remember mostly landing there late at night on the "kiddies" flights. I was looking at your photos on Flickr, I'm actually in one of them, St Nicklauses' sleigh at Shell Lodge, I'm the kid running along the pavement in the middle, I must have been 8
I was born in Qatar in the 70s but I wish so much to go back there and live in those earlier times. I recognized one of the buildings that was close to our house.

Yes that is Beirut after Landing it is Doha , from 0:32 till landing it is Beirut
Landing on the run way is not Doha international airport
From 0:00 - 0:32, its not Doha. Folks who have lived in Doha will know that there's no greenery esp. during those days..circa '60's
No wrong , till 0:32 it is Doha , after that it is Beirut.
