The second fight was diffently winable but you need to use the units abilities. Retinue can be put in defensive stand on the hill and then faster melee units behind in reserve to strengthen your flanks. The weakness of the retinue is the fatigue due to heavy armor, if they lose all stamina they are worthless. Spearmen are good in defensive stance as well Swords are good for attacks and roaming Bandits can hunt down archers because of the speed. Archers do way more damage when they run around and use "fire at will" in the back of the enemies that are fixed by your melee unit. Archers do almost no damage to unit with shields if you attack in the front. This is way the 2 spearmen survived. Love your playthroughs keep up the good work :)!
Take a look at the stamina of your units. If you keep them in the "running" mode, they won't do any damange. That's what happened to your retinue and then archers. No stamina = no dmg.
I enjoyed this very much, thank you. Oder es gefällt mir, danke. However, may I make some suggestions? 1. Put your villagers with the largest vegetable plots and put them in your church as gravediggers. As they do very little work in the church they have lots of time to grow their vegetables AND, most importantly, harvest them. 2. Have about 3 villagers unassigned. They'll be your builders and haulage, so things get built faster and goods move faster. There was a part in this episode where your blacksmith just wasn't getting finished because no-one was unassigned. 3. Use the Pause button! You had lots of time to plan your battles but rather messed them up; especially getting your heavily armoured (and expensive) retinue to run after archers into a forest. They quickly went from cream-crackered to toast. Excellent entertainment though. 🙂
I think the animals moved because your firewood hut is on free-range. Also, you can move the farmer families out during the winter, since they aren't doing anything.
Referring to Battles and reinforcement: you should Check where the Location of the Battle is supposed to be. When you start Combat inside the designated area, the Battle will officially start; once you win he will Not send reinforcement, so you should always do that :)
This little town reminds me so much of the small Alpine countryside villages I would walk through during long hikes. Just need some cowbells in the background ~
i think your retinue lost because they weren't on the move forward command (the sword in hand icon, see 19:25). Also the same issue in the second battle when your melee troops got run over.
I honestly am all about building in this game. For some reason the battles mean little or nothing to me in Manor Lords. I love battles in Anno and some other games like it but there just isn't much reason for them in this game other than territory or winning all of it. Seems feutal in a way. Survival is hard enough! Anyway, enjoyed in very much and loving the mountain map. Look forward to the next video!! 🤩
Do they not have elevation mechanics for archers? It was very strange that they didn't seem to do any damage until they were basically level with the enemy units. Frustrating!
Personally the whole battle thing against the other baron is stupid to me. The bandits are cool sure but the baron meh. To me this game is about village/town/city building and the combat part is whatever.
Your complaining the issue is your just bad... You didn't even check your manor to call out your retinue again... You run your troops everywhere as others said so there broken.. you sold so many war bows but didn't make enough melee units.. you didn't even add walls to your manor or towers which your units can use for defence.. etc. For someone that played it so many times.. how can you still be this much of a sore loser?

Nothing better to play on the one screen and have you on the other one. Nothing better indeed
Somehow you managed to get high ground disadvantage in fight
Cool town building stuff. Fun series so far.

Awesome
Since the archers were "fixed" in order to deal less damage, they are actually a pain in the... stern ... sometimes.

13:52 "ooooh .. dat sind ..."
I thought no one would notice 🫣
@Nivarias also ich hab gelacht :) eine Folge auf deutsch wäre mal cool! Keep up the good work 😄
I feel like even though you play on challenging even normal difficulty can be challenging sometimes especially when it comes to battles
I would like you to make more Cid impire videos.
Good chapter
You may want to look into pig pens on some of your burgages
Tax is an evil tool as a premise nevermind 20% have you no mercy? olol

"We still have the advatage of elevation."
Is that you, Obi-Wan?
🌞
your voice is so calming
🎉🎉❤❤
👍
it's sad that bugs like that exist to ruin the experience of battle...but the rest of the gameplay and graphics are great !
Obi wan would be disappointed
Those greedy freeloading peasants...
You´re archers doesn´t have sidearms and thats why they shouldn´t be used in melee ever.

High ground still lose, seems games mechanic not good enough
Thanks for showing that combat. I saw a bunch of bullshit that needs to get worked before I get this game.
get more oxen
2nd fight, ur archers are way too far
