  • This short dance was inspired by the men and women who opened my eyes to the devastating reality of brothel sex work in Cologne, Germany. Customers come into the brothels and see these beautiful women who seem to love their jobs. They appear willing and eager. But it's all an act. In truth, the "workers" suffer greatly. They have to dissociate to do their job. The risk of being violently assaulted is constant. They have trouble sleeping and have nightmares when they do. Depression, hopelessness and low self-worth are plagues. PTSD is common.
I wanted to create something to start conversations about the reality of sex work in a world that claims that it's "sexually liberating."
No profit is being made from this dance.
