Ryan's Fancy was out of Canada - PEI or Nova Scotia, I think? - in the 70's and 80's. They have a number of records out but I'm not sure what became of them. They were very popular for a number of years.
this was'nt their debut album. curragh's minstrels, rocks and whiskey was their very first and debut album, followed by an irish night at the black knight lounge
This was their debut album which came out in 72-73. The three had met in St. John's while Dennis Ryan was attending MUN in the late 60's and began performing together. Call it fate or just pure Irish luck, on a flight from London to St. John's, Dennis was fortunate to be seated next to Tommy Makem. The liner notes for the album were written by Tommy Makem.
Very jolly and the banjo is brilliant !
