Absolute monarchies are dictatorships. Mufasa is a tyrant as he have absolute power. The ONLY way to gain that power is through succession; and succession often means death. Mufasa had to die because Scar's ambition was more powerful than his brother's own loyalty from his subjects. Hyenas deserve to eat too, you know. That is the circle of life, and life is often harsh and cruel. There is no justice in unlimited power to a single being. This is why, you see, you need to be prepared.
