We have many magnetic work lights in our shop but few have the quality of the OLIGHT Swivel. Flat out, this light could be one of the best lights on the market in this style if OLIGHT would have made this in 4500K rather than 6500K. The color temperature of the light will not hurt everyone, but if you are working on electrical wires and searching for specific colors this light can skew the colors slightly.
We go through this new OLIGHT and show you everything it can do.
Thanks for the thoughtful review, especially indicating the color temperature. If enough people point this out, perhaps Olight and other light manufacturers that have not yet figured this out will finally catch on that good perception is one of the points of using a light. Give the buyer a choice. Someone I know that deals with CAT5 cable pointed out how important it was to have a higher CRI light to distinguish between the various color wires. With my aging eyes I find it especially important.
A good discussion of the pros and cons. The only other con I have heard brought up is that that the Swivel does not really swivel, although I do not know how they would do that and keep it sturdy. One place this does play a part is using this stuck to a ferrous wallboard corner bead. The base will only stick with its magnets straight up and down, so it would be useful to be able to swivel the head facing to the side. This also has the same impact when it is hanging. Interesting that Olight was thoughtful enough to have the carabiner gate open outward so that it could be used on larger items such as a pipe, that would not have enough room if it opened inward.
I was bummed to hear you had an issue with what seemed like a really cool light. Then I found out it was the light color and I was pretty excited. I’m completely colorblind so that’s good news for me as I couldn’t care less about what colors you see in the light this casts. Ordering one tonight, great video!
u said 6500 lumens,i think you meant kelvin. this light is 50-200 lumens, Nice review otherwise and love olights!
Sorry, I did not catch that in editing.
I was wondering the same. Lol
@@WorkshopAddict6500 lumens for $25 count me oh 😂
Lower color temperature makes light less efficient and costs more. Thanks for reviewing color temperature. I love Milwaukee color temperature, but hate that the use PWM. I like bosch not having PWM, but hate color temperature. I prefer the sun, it is great!
What’s PWM?

Thanks
$25 is almost worth it for me to try out but I think the color temp and UI would be a dealbreaker for me at least. I think I'll drop $40 on the M12 Rover "service & repair" light instead. Thanks for sharing this.
This looks like a decent light to keep in your vehicle incase of some night time emergency/flat tire situation.
Nice job demonstrating this is action. That was very helpful for me, thank you.
Low CRI, Chinese Cob led. Non replaceable battery, and low capacity lithium ion battery.
nice review!
i can buy this flashlight with a special price cause i bought from Olight the Seeker2Pro. i have only one question/problem: can it stay on a small diameter pipe? 1-2 inches. i guess it wont make contact with all the rows of magnets, so, is only one row of magnets strong enough to hold its weight?
i own 2 work flashlights with tiltable head and cap magnet, Nitecore MT21C and Fenix WT20R. only Nitecore can stay on a vertical small diameter pipe (in fact with only a vertical line as contact points) and the reflector facing down to the floor. Fenix's base is horizontal so the contact line is very short, the flashlight is heavy so...
i already own way too many flashlights, from Lumintop GT Nano to Acebeam K 75 so i dont want an unperfect flashlight right now.
i hope you understand my question, english is not my native language...
thank you.
I kinda like it for night-time work not involving electrical issues.
The magnet is a plus.
Thanks for the review! :)
Nice i can see me leaving it under my truck when oil change is done lol thanks Brian
It would be there for next time.
@@WorkshopAddict good point
@@iggymac3473 Obviously better to remember, but I do recall a story from a few years back of someone who stuck their Olight to their car (maybe the hood) while working on the vehicle, forgot it until they drove somewhere, and then remembered (probably with a panicked sinking feeling), and it was still there. :-)
I'd love to buy this but it's out of stock.
They went quick, but will come back soon.
Color temp is Kelvin not Lumen
I'm happy I got this, thanks for the video!
Nice quick, detailed review. Appreciate it.
I actually prefer this color temp over the Milwaukee temp. I wish my Milwaukee lights were closer to 5000.... shoot even 4000. I've had many lights in the "blue" part of the spectrum and have NEVER had issues with determining wire color. Imo, that's a weak marketing wank thing.
I got this light for free (the magic wheel). But this light is a miss. Color temperature does suit its purpose. It’s IPX 4 which is sad for this light. It would be great to have this have 21700 for dependable run times and swappable (again for run time).
From what I know, this is a light not designed by Olight. They shouldn’t have licensed this product. It’s not worth the money.
A type of Gorilla glass on flood lens woulda been nice. Plastics don't like solvents.
~ I still ordered one today(bright yellow color) 10.00 off while there picking up my free ivx little torch.
It seems a decent looking lamp, and handle does other than the Olight mini lantern's bail handle.
Alk. batteries often kill me while night catfishing, etc. even though I've always been in 17 lumens range with my mini mags/and Pelican's.

😎🍻😎🍻😎🍻😎
Is that the 9K extra wide extra long lift?
Yes.
Great information, thank you.
I received this for Christmas and the flood light is not working. Any thoughts?
I'm taking mine apart and paint one Candy Red. The other Pearl White...I had green anything...
Should have shown a demonstration on wires with the color temp vs. the milwuakee...
The color temp is set to reduce shadows. Use a different light for auto.
I want one of these incase the power ever goes out
Olight ….marvellous 🤗
2500 and 4500 lumens?? You mean 250 and 450?
No, I said it correct.
He meant KELVIN (color temperature rating), not Lumens.
I watched a few reviews, including this one. There will be a bunch of people who use this without complaint. I'm not one of them, however, so I'm returning mine before I even open it.
The cool colour temperature, lithium polymer battery with low capacity that cannot be replaced, low water resistance, and weird clip direction are enough to make me look elsewhere.
